Foreign media Digital Foundry released a technical analysis video of "Diablo 4".

DF said that Blizzard's primary goal for Diablo 4 on Xbox Series X and PS5 seems to be to achieve a smooth frame rate of 60FPS per second, and to achieve this, Diablo 4's native resolution is surprisingly low. On both next-gen consoles, native resolution is around 1260p — a pretty low percentage for a fast-moving and finely detailed hack-and-slash RPG.

That said, the game uses FSR 2 to upscale its graphics to 4K, and it seems that the game's isometric visuals combine particularly well with AMD's technology, and Digital Foundry finds any reconstruction issues a "challenge."

The combination of lower native resolution with FSR pays off in terms of performance, with both the XSX and PS5 delivering a largely stable 60fps, with only the occasional drop of 1 or 2 frames. These situations happen a little more often on PS5, but in general, the difference is not huge. As for the Xbox Series S, the situation is much the same, but with a lower resolution — stretched from the native 864P to 1440P.
