Because of the disease, Xing Yifan's muscles could hardly grow. Weak skeletal muscles cannot support and protect bones, and the more bones grow, the more muscles atrophy, and the heavier the burden on the body. Maximum motor ability can only sit alone, can not stand and walk like other children.
Is it to spend every day and night in bed, or to make your life more valuable? Xing Yifan chose the latter, and learning was his greatest pleasure.
Every lesson from elementary school to high school, parents accompany Xing Yifan. On the one hand, it is to earn money to support the family, on the other hand, it is to support the son's dream, the couple can not rest well a day, even if it is night, they have to wake up once every two hours and turn over for their son.
Due to severe spinal deformities, Xing Yifan can insist on sitting and listening to the lecture for up to 30 minutes a class, and the remaining 15 minutes can only lie down to listen to the class. When he flipped through the book, he couldn't do it with one hand. Due to the degeneration of the neck muscles, his head could hardly turn on its own. Usually in class, he can only support his head on the table with his chin, and his eyes can only scan half of the pages of the book.
But none of this overwhelmed Xing Yifan, and with a drilling force and tenacity, he found self-confidence in learning. During the middle school entrance examination, Xing Yifan was admitted to Jilin No. 1 Middle School with a score of 615 points, and the best middle school examination results in the school were tested.

With the increase of age, Xing Yifan's body gradually developed symptoms of multi-system involvement, including multiple joint contractures, spinal deformities, respiratory insufficiency, nutritional disorders, etc. But he's looking forward to getting into college with good grades, "I just want to see where I can go, and I want to run forward." ”
With hands with only a little muscular strength left, he completed one test paper after another, making more than 20 in a day, often at one or two o'clock in the morning, and tired enough to fall asleep every day. His bones were very fragile and in danger of breaking if he was not careful. During the preparation for the college entrance examination, Xing Yifan accidentally fractured the shoulder joint of his right arm while preparing to go to bed. During 3 months of treatment, he developed a fallen pneumonia due to prolonged bed rest and severe respiratory insufficiency.
After the fracture and pneumonia improved, Xing Yifan immediately returned to class. With the company and encouragement of parents, with the help and support of teachers and classmates in the school, he participated in and successfully completed the 2021 college entrance examination as desired. The results came out, Xing Yifan lived up to expectations, created a new miracle, and scored excellent results in the college entrance examination, 645 points!
At the enrollment meeting on June 25 this year, when Xing Yifan's father submitted the information to the teacher of the Beihang Admissions Office and introduced his son's condition and learning situation in detail, the admissions teacher's answer was particularly warm: "The most difficult thing you have done, the rest of the things will be handed over to us." ”

At the same time, by chance, Shi Chen College learned that professor Xiong Hui's team of MDT Professor Xiong Hui of Neuromuscular Diseases of Peking University Hospital has been providing professional care and help to Xing Yifan. On September 2, at the Rare Disease Center of Peking University Hospital - Neuromuscular Disease Multidisciplinary Comprehensive Diagnosis and Treatment (MDT) Clinic, experts from multiple departments launched a joint free consultation for "old patient" Xing Yifan to comprehensively assess his physical condition. Six teachers also went to participate in the study of how to make Xing Yifan more quality university study, life, action, etc.
After the free clinic, accompanied by teachers and students of the college, Xing Yifan came to the Beihang campus and lived in a loving dormitory located on the first floor, with convenient access, two beds and independent bathrooms, and Xing Yifan's mother will also live here to take care of him. The college prepared daily necessities in advance and coordinated the dormitory access control, electricity, electrical appliances and other issues, so that they could brush their faces and carry their bags to move in.
