1860: Unification of Italy: Garibaldi agrees to hand over his conquered Kingdom of the Two Sicilies to Vittorio Emanuele II, monarch of the Kingdom of Sardinia.

1864: The Qing dynasty government of China liberalizes its mining monopoly and allows private capital to mine copper in Yunnan.

1918: World War I: Erich Ludendorff is dismissed from all his duties by The German Emperor Wilhelm II for refusing to obey the peace orders.
