Zhidian Mobility learned that according to Changan Automobile's 2022A+ product plan, it plans to develop the C318 model of a hardcore SUV product, which is positioned as a new energy compact SUV product that meets differentiated competition, and will be put into production in 2024 with an annual production capacity of 100,000 units. The new car is equipped with 1.5T range extender power, which is similar to the tank 300 in terms of overall size, but the wheelbase of 2,880mm has a great advantage, even surpassing the tank 500.
The "Changan Automobile C318 Series New Energy Passenger Vehicle Production Line Technical Transformation Project" plans to adapt the existing automobile production line in the third plant of the Liangjiang plant, and the models will be adjusted from the existing five models, including R103, R104, F203, CD569 and D01, to four models, including R103, R104, CD569 and C318.
The project will discontinue production of the D01 model and F203 model, reduce the production of the R104 model by a total of 100,000 units/year, and increase the production of the C318 model by 100,000 units/year, and maintain the combined production capacity of the three plants of the Liangjiang Plant at 390,000 units/year after completion.
Changan C318 is equipped with HE15 engine + P1 range extender / P13 integrated range extender + long/short range battery + EDS2 electric drive, and the battery capacity is available in 18.4kWh or 35.1kWh specifications. It is also expected to be equipped with SDA architecture, with four technical features: hardware pluggability, scene orchestration, ecosystem on-demand, and system self-evolution, which will bring safer intelligent driving, more intimate intelligent interaction, and richer intelligent ecological experience.
