After entering the era of full-screen mobile phones, almost no one mentions the screen-to-body ratio, after all, according to the current technology, there are not many articles that can be done on the mobile phone border, and the surrounding border of the flagship machine is already very narrow, since everyone has done almost the same, there is no need to mention the screen-to-body ratio. In order to "kill" the front, manufacturers have actually worked hard

However, mobile phone manufacturers have not given up their efforts to "kill" the front camera, so they have set their sights on a new technology, that is, under-screen camera technology, which was also considered the best solution in the entire industry at that time.

In fact, as early as 2019, manufacturers such as Xiaomi and OPPO directly announced their prototypes of under-screen cameras, but unfortunately, due to various problems, these products were still in the research and development stage at that time. After all, for users and manufacturers, the biggest problem with under-screen cameras is still that the display effect and imaging effect are too difficult to have the best of both worlds, taking care of one party, the other party is difficult to take care of.

From the actual situation, if the front camera wants to shoot, it needs to have enough light to enter, but if the under-screen camera wants enough light to enter, it is necessary to make the screen pixels of the front part lower, so that the light can enter the front camera through the gap between the pixels and finally complete the imaging. Therefore, manufacturers generally choose new materials, with the circuit layout to control the pixels of the front area, but even so, the early technology is still immature, which will affect the brightness and resolution of the screen itself, not to mention, the imaging effect of the front camera screen effect is obvious, and it is impossible to see it at all.

This requires manufacturers to invest a lot of long-term in this technology to solve the defects of the under-screen camera step by step, of which the largest investment should be ZTE. As early as September 2020, ZTE released the world's first real under-screen camera mobile phone - AXON20, but this mobile phone has almost no highlights except for the under-screen camera, and the sparse texture, wide border and even the 720P screen make it difficult to call it useful.

Fortunately, the next generation of ZTE AXON30 changes this problem, the machine is equipped with a fairly good quality screen, the area of the camera under the screen is almost imperceptible, but due to the volume of ZTE, many people do not know this product. And what really pushes the under-screen camera phone to the climax is to look at the Xiaomi MIX4 in the same year.

From the product point of view, Xiaomi MIX4 under-screen camera completion is still quite high, compared to the original ZTE AXON20 released bumps, Xiaomi MIX4 uses a large pixel + independent driver chip solution, so that the screen fineness of the front area has not decreased. However, unfortunately, due to the limitations of the under-screen camera, Xiaomi MIX4 can only be equipped with a 1080P resolution screen, to know that Xiaomi MIX4 as a flagship product priced up to 4999 yuan, such a screen is obviously unqualified, which also led to Xiaomi MIX4 in the high-end market cold.

The under-screen camera is replaced by a mid-facing digging hole, is it really impossible to achieve a true full screen?

After this toss, many mobile phone manufacturers have given up the development and continuous innovation of under-screen cameras, and now only ZTE mobile phones are still insisting on under-screen cameras, and have also come up with innovations such as blue diamond arrangement, distributed transparent routing, and new front-facing smart through algorithms. Unfortunately, even with the blessing of so many new technologies, the latest Red Devil 8 Pro front shooting experience is far from the mainstream perforated smartphones, and basically dissuades all female users.

Similarly, today's mainstream flagship mobile phones, are almost all using the central punch design, which can not only take care of the user's needs for the front selfie, but also maintain a high screen-to-body ratio, which is the best of both worlds at present, and the user's acceptance of this program is still relatively high, almost not heard too much opposition, so this comes and goes, most mobile phone manufacturers have also abandoned the "chicken ribs" under-screen camera program.
