August 5 this year marks the 88th anniversary of Mr. Jiang Weishui's death.
Jiang Weishui (1891-1931), a native of Yilan, Taiwan, was the founder and leader of the Taiwan Cultural Association and the Taiwan People's Party, and devoted his life to the patriotic movement against the Japanese authorities. In 1924, Jiang Weishui proudly said from the defendant's seat in the courtroom of the Japanese authorities: "The Taiwanese people are clearly the Chinese nation."

In 2010, Jiang Zhaogen, a descendant of Jiang Weishui, gave me two "Mr. Jiang Weishui Circulating Commemorative Coins" issued on August 5 of that year. The Taiwan folk proverb says, "Learn from the example," and I would like to encourage Mr. Jiang Weishui to learn from him and do a good job for the peaceful development of cross-strait relations in his lifetime. This year, I was 60 years old.
"Make a wish of superiority" is the first and first sentence of Zuo Zongtang's famous association of "make a wish of superiority, make a medium-term relationship, enjoy the blessings of inferiority; choose a high place to stand, seek peace to live, and walk to a wide place".
Today, compatriots on both sides of the strait should jointly "make a wish of superiority" in the name of the "Chinese nation": to serve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
