Through a set of images that explore contemporary reality and surreal places – featuring Steven Meisel and Gigi Hadid as it is – Miu Miu presents two handbags crafted from iconic Matelassé leather: the classic Wander and the newborn Arcadie.
Since ancient Greece, the word Arcadie has been given a mythological overtone. It is an ideal paradise, a paradise of bliss blended with nature, leisurely and fascinating.
MIU MIU
Meisel draws inspiration from the real life and spiritual world of American artist Margaret Keane, reproduces the artist's instantly recognizable aesthetic mood, and then reshapes the personal characteristics of Miu Miu's heroine, creating a bizarre atmosphere for Gigi and Miu Miu's accessory images. Likewise, Keane's tenacious personality, freedom and legend are in line with Miu Miu's unquestionable and distinctive style, expressed through Gigi's gestures, moods and emotions. Everyday life can be different, and ordinary can also achieve extraordinary.

The rich nature of the ideal space evokes the brushstrokes and realism of the painting, echoing the intricate textures of Miu Miu's characteristic Matelassé leather. This signature Miu Miu material combines modern lightness and vitality with traditional leather craftsmanship to add texture and depth to both bags.
A series of stylized yet intimate and intuitive portraits, juxtaposed with striking still lifes. Gigi is immersed in the process, staring at the viewer with wide eyes, playing the role of her true self and the other. Just this simple look invites people to step into a wonderful world: half unreal, half realistic, but completely revealing Miu Miu's true colors.
