The reporter learned that many airlines such as China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines have successively issued notices announcing the adjustment of fuel surcharges for domestic routes.
According to the notice of each airline, the passenger transportation fuel surcharge for domestic routes will be adjusted for tickets sold from June 5 onwards. The adjusted levy standard is: 20 yuan per passenger for flight segments below 800 kilometers (inclusive); For flights over 800 km, each passenger will be charged 30 yuan.
Industry insiders said that compared with the previous collection standards, the adjusted fuel surcharge for domestic routes was reduced by 10 yuan per passenger for flights below 800 kilometers (inclusive), and 30 yuan per passenger for flights over 800 kilometers.
It is reported that this is the third time that the price of the fuel surcharge for air tickets has been reduced this year. On January 5 and April 5 this year, the fuel surcharge was lowered twice, halving the standard levied at the end of 2022.
Since the beginning of this year, the tourism industry has continued to recover, and the fuel surcharge for domestic routes has been lowered several times in a row, and the travel cost of passengers has been reduced accordingly, which is conducive to accelerating the recovery of domestic tourism. With the special Dragon Boat Festival holiday and summer peak season approaching, passenger travel is expected to continue to increase significantly.
On the air ticket sales platform, the price of Dragon Boat ticket tickets has also decreased significantly compared with "May Day". According to platform data, as of May 29, the average price of one-way air tickets including tax during the Dragon Boat Festival was 1,029 yuan, 21.9% lower than the price of 1,316 yuan in the same period of May Day this year (booked 23 days in advance).
However, with the arrival of the summer vacation, domestic air ticket prices will rebound from late June, and travelers with summer travel plans can pay attention to the recent promotions on major platforms.
