Recently, the situation in Serbia has continued to escalate. At this difficult moment, Vučić met with the ambassadors of China and Russia to reiterate Serbia's position and the current situation of the Kosovo issue. In the face of small civil unrest, NATO "peacekeeping" forces took the initiative to go down. It's a pity that this kind of pulling the frame is still a little too naïve.
The Kosovo region has a long history, but the fundamental reason lies in the intervention of the United States and the West. In 2008, at the instigation of the United States and the West, Kosovo unilaterally declared "independence". Since then, it has been a problem for Serbia. Without Kosovo, Serbia not only lost its only access to the sea in Montenegro and became a landlocked country, but also further expanded NATO's military encirclement, and all eight surrounding countries are NATO members.
In fact, before meeting the ambassadors of China and Russia, Vučić also met with the ambassadors of Britain, France, the United States, Germany and Italy, but did not get any substantive statement, the situation in Kosovo was caused by them, and now he is naturally pretending to be deaf and dumb. However, France is particularly tough this time, Macron said that the "Kosovo authorities" are mainly responsible for the current situation, really did not expect that after Macron's last visit to China, not only became the pioneer of independent ideas, but also became the hardest bone in Europe.
Today's situation in Serbia is likely to plunge NATO into an embarrassing situation of "fighting" on two fronts.
On the one hand, there is the double standard of NATO countries on territorial issues. Europe strongly opposes the "independence" of the "Donbass region", "Crimea region"; But for the "Kosovo region" it is supportive. It is clear that these are all territorial issues and internal affairs of other countries, but NATO has shown a completely different attitude, which is not only losing its own credibility, but also losing the high ground of public opinion. NATO forces directly intervene in the internal affairs of other countries in the name of "peacekeeping" is indeed in line with the consistent behavior of the Western camp.
On the other hand, the military aid of NATO countries to Ukraine has long emptied the arsenals of these countries. Germany has previously said it will not be able to fill its arms gap by 2030. Long-term and massive military aid has caused people to march and demonstrate one after another, and if NATO intervenes in Kosovo now, it will certainly arouse popular opposition. Moreover, NATO said two days ago that it is completely unacceptable to accept an unprovoked attack by Serbs. Judging from this statement, it is very likely that other types of military intervention will be carried out in Kosovo in the future, and NATO will be gradually dragged into the quagmire of the two-front battlefield.
At the same time, we can notice that Vučić specially met the ambassadors of China and Russia separately from the five countries of Britain, France, the United States, Germany, and Italy; in fact, he did not hold out too much hope for these European and American countries, and in fact called them here to emphasize Serbia's position and condemn their actions. But for China and Russia, Vučić was able to carry it.
Now only China and Russia, or only China to be precise, can help Serbia. Not only because China and Serbia have deep friendship, but also because we have the experience and ability to reconcile, and China's impartiality has long been widely recognized by all countries in the world. Regarding the civil unrest in Serbia, our Ministry of Foreign Affairs also took the lead in speaking out, expressing respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the countries concerned. The meaning of this sentence is that we are willing to provide strength for regional peace, and China is definitely willing to help Serbia, but how to help and to what extent depends on the changes in the situation. After all, the Kosovo issue is still Serbia's internal affair, and no matter what, we cannot interfere in the internal affairs of other countries.
