Huanglongxi Ancient Town, located in the southern part of the Chengdu Plain at the junction of Shuangliu, Pengshan and Renshou, is a place with a history of more than 1,700 years, Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu once wrote a poem "The window contains the Xiling Thousand Autumn Snow, the door is moored to the East Wu Wanli Boat", and this will cross the Min River, cross the Three Gorges to the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and the first large pier from Chengdu to arrive at is Huanglongxi. The wide river channel and stable water have become a rare natural water pier.
When we reached Huanglongxi, the sky began to fall with a drizzle. The ancient town in the rain is actually more meaningful, less noisy and more peaceful.
The ancient town dressed in a gown, dressed in the costume of an old Sichuanese, took us back to the old Sichuan. Night striking is a thousand-year-old tradition in Huanglongxi. In those days, there were many boats coming and going on the Qianhe River, and they docked at the old pier. Those who are in business and rush to the scene can only know the hour by calling the time. The old people in Huanglongxi like to listen to the beating, and the gong is sounded from the hour (9 pm), and the call is made once every hour, until midnight (5 am), a total of five changes.
According to the "Huayang Guozhi". The territory of the Duyu dynasty reached Hanzhong in the north and Xiong'er (Qingshen Gorge on the Nanmin River in present-day Qingshen County) in the south. The Muma Mountains are located in the upper reaches of the Qingshen Gorge, adjacent to its southern border. As a thoroughfare and an important water wharf of the Fu River, Huanglongxi can go up the river to Chengdu, and down the river to Nan'an (present-day Leshan), guarding the throat of the ancient Shu waterway. The fortification of troops here played an important strategic role in blocking the western Sichuan Plain and consolidating the rear of the ancient Shu Kingdom.
As the water column spewed out of the mouth of this stone dragon expresses the meaning, the biggest attraction of Huanglongxi is water, according to legend, a long time ago, the first place where the candle dragon lived was in Huanglongxi, it has a human face and a dragon body, a candle in its mouth, and illuminated in the darkness in the northwest without sun.
It swims in the river (referring to the Deer Creek River) and stains the river red. Therefore, the original name of Huanglongxi is also called Chishui. In addition, Erlang God was originally also a dragon, Ying Long, and also an evil dragon, and was later transformed by Guanyin Bodhisattva and returned to Li Bing's hands to cure water. Legend has it that it could draw the ground into rivers and direct floods into the sea.
Once, Li Bing sent Erlang God to govern the Luxi River, and because he entered the territory of the candle dragon, the two dragons fought. The candle dragon was wearing red armor, Ying Long Erlang God was wearing a green helmet, one could breathe fire and spire flames, and the other could soar for nine days, at that time, many people saw these two dragons fighting incomprehensibly, tossing the little Huanglongxi into shape.
Later, Candle Dragon saw that the local people were killed by their fights and displaced, so he felt extremely ashamed and rushed into the Luxi River and ran to Zhongshan in the north. Ying Long Erlang also felt faceless in the face of the villagers, and after repairing the Big Buddha Yan (a local water conservancy facility), he also flew far away to the Qinglong Field in Pengshan. Later, in order to commemorate these two dragons, people held fire dragon lantern dances every Spring Festival, and dragon boat races were held during the Dragon Boat Festival.
Stepping into the ancient town, you can see a stream passing through the town, houses and shops built by the water, and there are various unique bridges on the water, and there are many stone carved turtles living in the water, which looks harmonious and natural.
A water rowing past, the two sides of the corridor is still the same, it is not difficult to imagine how comfortable it is to sit quietly on it: a pot of clear tea tastes Du Fu's sad ambition, and a bottle of fine wine breathes Li Bai's unruly and tender feelings.
Huanglongxi is an agricultural township, without the hustle and bustle of a big city, showing a picture of the folk customs of Sichuan townships.
Stepping on the smooth and slippery bluestone slabs under your feet, the rows of wooden buildings on both sides of the street make you stop and savor it at all times. There is no deep house courtyard, only a small loft with brick and wood structure and bamboo walls and green tiles.
Every brick and tile here exudes the rural atmosphere of Sichuan's old time, and all exudes the unchanging simplicity of the long distance. Immersed in it, wandering eyes, going to the country and nostalgia, the feeling of freedom in the sky.
Today, Huanglongxi Ancient Town has seven neighborhoods in the Ming and Qing dynasties, 76 sets of Ming and Qing dwellings, and the three counties of Huayang, Pengshan and Renshou in the late Qing and early Minming Dynasties set up a common Yamen here, thus forming a miracle of "one street, three temples, three counties and one Yamen". Walk through the ancient town carved by time, taste the vicissitudes of history in the simple and quiet, and feel the simple folk customs.
Most of the buildings in Huanglongxi were rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty, basically retaining the pattern of ancient times, and are the essence of residential architecture in the mountain townships of western Sichuan. The ancient streets and alleys are orderly, with wooden pillars and green tiles, pavilions and pillars, hanging gates, beautifully carved balustrades and window mullions, upturned corners of the gatehouse, and big red lanterns under the eaves all show a little style of the ancient town, and the ancient style and ancient charm greet you.
Life in the ancient town is trivial. Just as the era that seems plain as water in history is the happy age, happy life is also trivial, making a pot of tea at home is just to quench thirst; Go to a teahouse and ask for a cup of tea and sit for a few hours, that is called making tea, only then is it called life.
The former prosperity left the ancient boat port and the old city gate for Huanglongxi.
Wangyekan is the oldest ferry port on the river, where boats from Chengdu and boats from Chongqing and Leshan are mostly anchored overnight. "Heading out of Jinguan City, staying at Huanglongxi at night, thousands of people respecting each other during the day, and ten thousand bright lights at night" is a portrayal of the busy water traffic scene of Huanglongxi.
Today, the poetry of the country of heavenly prefectures is faintly diffused in the full charm of Sichuan dialect, in the wisps of tea fragrance wafting from the bowl of tea, and also in the fresh and quiet bamboo forest path, accumulating the folk customs of Bashu, exuding a heavy cultural heritage. The leisurely, peaceful and idyllic Huanglongxi is a wonderful station to release the body and mind.
