Mountain Cherry (Liaodong Mountain Cherry)

Family: Rosaceae Plum genus

Identification points: deciduous trees, canopy oval. The bark is greyish brown, smooth and ring-striped. The leaves are alternate, with two glands on the petiole, the leaves are inverted ovate or ovate oval, the apex is caudal, short tapering, and the edges are serrated. There are soft hairs along the leaf veins on the dorsal side of the leaf. The flowers are 1–3 clumps, opening first, pale pink at first, and then white. The drupes are ovate and spherical, purple-red.

Habits: light-loving, wet-tide-loving, fertile, well-drained soil, poor cold tolerance. It grows on hillside broad-leaved forest margins or along valley streams.

Distribution: Southeast China, Korea, Japan also has distribution. It is found wildly in Ji'an Laoling, Jilin Province.

Application: garden ornamental tree species, Changchun application less.
