Amplify the move! The $960 billion chip leader launched a blockbuster AI new product, and the A-share "circle of friends" clarified the "ambiguous" relationship

author:Securities Times

As the world's total leader in AI computing power, NVIDIA benefited from the artificial intelligence boom, achieved more than expected growth in the latest fiscal quarter, with a market value approaching the trillion-dollar mark, and released a series of new artificial intelligence products such as generative AI supercomputing platform and superchip GH200 on May 29, aiming to redefine the new computing era.

Launch of the supercomputing platform

On May 29, NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang made a series of product launches at COMPUTEX 2023, including the large-memory generative AI supercomputing platform DGX GH200, the Grace Hopper superchip GH200 that can accelerate generative AI design, which has been fully put into production, and the launch of the new accelerated Ethernet platform Spectrum-X.

"We are reinventing the computer, and accelerated computing and artificial intelligence are a sign that computing is being redefined." Huang said.

According to the official website, DGX GH200 is a new AI supercomputing platform that fully connects 256 NVIDIA Grace Hopper superchips into a single GPU, supports trillion-parameter AI large model training, and has 144TB of shared memory, which is nearly 500 times larger than the DGX A100 launched in 2020 of the previous generation.

Huang Jenxun introduced that DGX GH200 is easier to train large language models and deep learning recommendation systems, and does not need to store data in many modules.

In addition, Google Cloud, Meta and Microsoft will be among the first companies to use the DGX GH200, which is expected to launch by the end of 2023 as the foundation for future hyperscale generative AI infrastructure.

"We are now at a turning point in a new computing era, where accelerated computing and artificial intelligence have been embraced by almost all computing platforms and cloud service vendors in the world." Huang said 40,000 large companies and 15,000 startups around the world are using NVIDIA's technology.

As demand for chips needed to train and deploy AI software soars, Nvidia's high-end chip H100 sells for more than $40,000, and the most advanced A100 and newer H100 are banned from sale to China due to the U.S. ban, and only downgraded versions of the A800 and H800 chips are available. In addition, NVIDIA's main competitor AMD launched the new AI training product MI300 in the first quarter of this year, and Intel also announced the Falcon Shores chipset plan.

Accelerate the implementation of the application side

To support the application of ultra-large-scale generative AI, NVIDIA launched the accelerated network platform Spectrum-X, which can reduce the runtime of large-scale generative AI models based on transformers. In addition, NVIDIA also launched the enterprise-level metaverse platform Omniverse, which combines AI and digital twins, which is expected to drive the next stage of the wave of artificial intelligence.

In his keynote speech, Huang also demonstrated how electronics manufacturers including Foxconn, Innodisk, Pegatron, Quanta and Wistron use Omniverse and generative AI APIs to connect design and manufacturing tools, NVIDIA Isaac Sim to simulate and test robots, and vision AI framework NVIDIAMetropolis for automated optical inspection. Jensen Huang also announced the launch of the Isaac AMR platform to help simulate, deploy and manage groups of intelligent robots.

In addition, NVIDIA will provide a custom AI model foundry service, Avatar Cloud Engine (ACE) for Games, which can develop AI models that run on the cloud and PC. Developers can use the service to build and deploy customized voice, dialogue, and animation AI models in their software and games.

In his speech at the graduation ceremony of National Taiwan University a few days ago, Huang said that we are at the beginning of a major technological era, just like personal computers, the Internet, mobile devices and the cloud. But AI is more fundamental, because every level of computing has been reshaped.

A-share NVIDIA concept stock changes

NVIDIA's performance is also being "reshaped" by artificial intelligence. On May 25, the company released the first quarter of fiscal 2024 financial report, showing that the company achieved quarterly revenue of $7.192 billion, an increase of 19% month-on-month, GAAP net profit of $2.043 billion, an increase of 44% month-on-month, and gross margin of 64.6%, of which data center quarterly revenue of $4.28 billion hit a record high, and the development of generative AI accelerated, driving the exponential growth of global computing demand; NVIDIA looks forward to achieving revenue of $11 billion in the second fiscal quarter (up or down 2%). Continued rapid growth.

Stimulated by the better-than-expected performance, NVIDIA's stock price rose by more than 25% on May 25, and the total market value of the latest closing was close to $1 trillion; The A-share artificial intelligence sector was once boosted, and on May 29, AI chips, computing power concepts, etc. closed higher, of which Chiplet concept led with a 1.88% increase, Zhongfu Circuit, Tongfu Microelectric rose to the limit, in addition, a number of companies clarified their relationship with NVIDIA.

Jin Baize recently issued a change announcement saying that the company did not supply NVIDIA and there was no related income; Only part of the research and development of product solutions is required, there will be procurement of NVIDIA related products; NVIDIA's performance is not directly related to the company's performance. On May 29, the company's stock price rose again.

The stock price of FII, which has attracted much attention from the capital market because of its AI server foundry business, has also risen continuously. On May 29, FII issued a change announcement, saying that the company has no media reports or market rumors that have an impact on the trading price of the company's stock, and the current production and operation activities are normal, and the daily operation situation has not undergone major changes.

Intertech, Shenzhen Huaqiang and other companies said on the interactive platform that the company has not cooperated with NVIDIA for the time being.

There are also listed companies that introduce cooperation with NVIDIA.

Among them, Yakang said on the investor interactive platform on May 29 that the company is a customer of NVIDIA's related products. According to reports, the company has indirect business relations with NVIDIA at home and abroad, and the GPU machines purchased and sold by the company are based on NVIDIA products.

Haitian AAC recently said on the interactive platform that the company currently purchases chips produced by a number of hardware manufacturers, including NVIDIA, for data storage and data production. In addition, CLP Port said that the company is one of NVIDIA's authorized distributors in China; Bojie shares said that it has cooperation orders with NVIDIA, and the amount is not large.
