In January 2023, with the approval of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee, the Hunan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision conducted a case review and investigation on Fu Guoping, former deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Xiangtan Municipal People's Congress, for serious violations of discipline and law.
On April 27, 2023, the Yueyang Intermediate People's Court in Hunan Province held a public hearing of the bribery case of Fu Guoping, former deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Xiangtan Municipal People's Congress. Fu Guoping did not dispute the facts of the crime charged in the prosecution and pleaded guilty and repented.
