Since Riot announced that LCS clubs no longer need to be forced to form minor teams, many clubs have abandoned their teams, cutting off important development channels for new players who want to compete in official leagues. According to a tweet posted yesterday (May 29), the LCS Players Association said the strike vote held passed "by a landslide".

Many pro fighters have expressed their dissatisfaction with the decision to punch. NRG player Palafox previously tweeted: "If it weren't for the academy race, I wouldn't be in LCS right now. TSM player Chime also said, "The Academy/NACL system gave me the opportunity to pursue my career.

But within days of Riot announcing the rule change, 5 of LCS's 10 major clubs, including 100 Thieves, Cloud 9, Dignitas, Golden Duardians and NRG, said they would not play in this summer's NACL minor. The LCS Players Association said on Twitter that TSM and Immortals will not component NACL teams.

The requirements for the strike organized by the LCS Players Association include a system of upgrades and downgrades between LCS and NACL (similar to Valorant), NACL establishing a pool of player salaries, and a one-year guaranteed contract for LCS players who win the NACL Summer Finals.

Today (May 30), the LCS Players Association is asking players to continue their strike if they are recruited by a team as a substitute.
