In modern times, the territorial changes in China were mainly after World War II. In 1945, China recovered Taiwan and the Penghu Islands and successfully resisted Japanese aggression. Since then, China's territorial scope has remained largely stable. However, due to historical reasons, China's borders with some neighboring countries are still disputed, which requires constant negotiation and resolution.

After Pakistan expressed its willingness to return Chinese territory, China immediately responded: it was willing to respect history and transfer part of its territory to Pakistan in order to delimit the watershed. The two countries have a part of each and use this as a border. According to the river basin, the river flowing into China belongs to Chinese territory, and the river flowing into Pakistan belongs to Pakistani-controlled Kashmir. Among them, China allocates an area of up to 1,900 square kilometers to Pakistan.
Kashmir is made up of Indian-controlled parts and Pakistani-controlled parts. The Kashmir region is located between India and Pakistan on the South Asian subcontinent and includes the Jammu and Kashmir region (controlled by India) and the Kashmir Valley (controlled by Pakistan). Kashmir has not only caused a long-standing dispute between India and Pakistan, but is also an important issue in political and diplomatic relations in the South Asian region. Overall, Kashmir is a complex issue involving territorial and political strife between India and Pakistan.
