Lü Zijian, the great hero of the Yangtze River: Looking at the East Asian sick man sign sent by Japan, he said to Huo Yuanjia: Return it

author:Historical inscriptions

On June 1, 1910, Huo Yuanjia successfully founded a "Jingwu Sports Association" in Shanghai, aiming to exercise the perseverance of the Chinese people and rely on martial arts to save the country. At that time, the location of the guild hall was selected by Lu Zijian, who was revered by the world as the "Hero of the Yangtze River".

At that time, near the guild hall, there was a martial arts hall opened by the Japanese. The Japanese samurai inside were so proud that they simply looked down on Chinese martial arts. What is even more infuriating is that on the first day of the opening of the "Jingwu Sports Association", the Japanese sent a plaque with the words "Sick Man of East Asia" written on it.

Huo Yuanjia

Huo Yuanjia was indignant when he saw this, and turned around to ask How Lu Zijian, who was standing next to him, had handled the matter. Lü Zijian immediately replied domineeringly, "What else can I do?" Give them back..."

In this way, Huo Yuanjia held the plaque, and Lü Zijian followed him, smashing it in front of the Japanese. Of course, the Japanese were not convinced and proposed to compete with the two, and as a result, the entire Japanese martial arts hall was selected by Huo Yuanjia and Lü Zijian.

Everyone was very familiar with Huo Yuanjia, but little was known about Lü Zijian's name. In fact, he and huo Yuanjia, the "great hero of Jinmen", and Du Xinwu, the "great hero of Guandong", were called the "three heroes" of the late Qing Dynasty and the early Ming Wulin, and the events he experienced in his life were absolutely called swinging intestines and strong mountains and rivers.

Lü Zijian

In 1893, Lü Zijian was born into a martial arts family in Yichang City, Hubei Province, where his parents and uncles had a good martial art. Together, they run a "Changsheng Dart Bureau" with a total number of nearly 1,000 people. Therefore, when he was very young, he was influenced by his family and was also very enthusiastic about learning martial arts.

When Lü Zijian was twelve, his parents felt that there was nothing left to teach him, so they sent him to Wudang to learn martial arts with Master Li Guocao.

After staying in Wudang for more than a year, Lü Zijian ran to Mount Emei again and worshiped Changye as a teacher. In order to better learn martial arts, Lü Zijian felt that martial arts and Chinese medicine complemented each other, so he began to travel back and forth between Mount Emei and Hubei Guo medical hall, learning martial arts while studying medicine.

When he was studying medicine, he also paid homage to a teacher, Ding Shirong, who was a military attaché in the late Qing Dynasty, who once served as a sword guard for Empress Dowager Cixi.

In 1924, Lü Zijian did a big thing, Lu Zuofu, chairman of the Minsheng Steamship Company, in order to regain the transportation rights of Chinese ships on the Yangtze River, he asked Lü Zijian to challenge the Japanese ronin leader Hideo Mitsui.

Hideo Mitsui's taekwondo kung fu is very strong, so he is also very proud. Therefore, he accepted the challenge of Lü Zijian, and the two signed a life and death certificate and engaged in a life-and-death duel at the Yichang School Military Field.

As expected, Mitsui Hideo was not an opponent of Lü Zijian at all, and he was killed by Lü Zijian in three strokes and two blows.

Because of the evil deeds of Hideo Mitsui and his ronin, they controlled the shipping of the Yangtze River, crashed and sank Chinese ships, plundered shipping goods, slaughtered fishermen, and imposed taxes on goods. Therefore, Lu Zijian's move is really very happy, and he is respected by the world as the "Hero of the Yangtze River".

Later, watching the evil people running rampant in Yichang City and the local people deeply affected by it, Lü Zijian was impatient, and finally raised his arms and was responded by many local martial artists. In the end, everyone set up a "Thirty-Six Heavenly Gang" organization, which specialized in hoeing the strong and helping the weak, and performing heroic and righteous deeds, and soon destroyed the "Seventy-two Hells" evil force organization that was active in the local area.

In 1929, Wang Jingwei and Chu Minyi and others joined forces to propose the abolition of Chinese medicine, believing that Chinese medicine only talked about theory, and compared with the human anatomy of Western medicine, there was no scientific basis at all, which stimulated great dissatisfaction in the domestic Chinese medicine community.

For this reason, many Chinese medicine halls joined forces to elect Lü Zijian as the head of the TCM medical team, and finally, with everyone's efforts, the National Government revoked the "abolition of TCM case", and the essence of Chinese heritage escaped the disaster.

In 1931, the British supported a bully surnamed Hong in Shashi in an attempt to monopolize the entire textile industry in Shashi. This surnamed Hong has the support of the British behind him, and in the local area, he is flying and wandering, not only deducting the workers' wages, but also poisoning the people and occupying the people's women.

However, because the surname Hong himself was good at fist and foot kung fu, he was called "Flying Centipede", so many boxers in Shashi who were uneven in the city eventually died at his hands. In desperation, Shashi Wulin invited Lü Zijian and directly blew up the "Flying Centipede".

For the next 6 years, Lü Zijian has been sitting in Hubei Wulin, and when he encounters unfair things, he will fight righteously, gaining great prestige and respect in the entire wulin.

In 1937, Lü Zijian studied in Nanjing. Unexpectedly, this year, the iron hooves of the Japanese invaders set foot on Nanjing, and countless civilians were massacred here. This is also one of the great crimes committed by the Japanese army invading China in China, and it is a historical tragedy that all the sons and daughters of China will always remember.

Lü Zijian, the great hero of the Yangtze River: Looking at the East Asian sick man sign sent by Japan, he said to Huo Yuanjia: Return it

Although Lü Zijian, who personally experienced the Nanjing Massacre, was indignant and blinded by the atrocities committed by the Japanese army invading China, he had no choice but to do so. Finally, under the persuasion of his master, he disguised himself as a langzhong and escaped from Nanjing.

It was only at this time that Lü Zijian had already given birth to an incomparably firm belief in resisting Japan and saving the dead in his heart. So after escaping, he went to Chongqing to find the Nationalist government.

Chiang Kai-shek, who was then the president of the Military Commission of the Nationalist Government, naturally had heard of Lü Zijian's name, so he invited him to stay and teach his bodyguards. Not only that, Lü Zijian was awarded the rank of Major General of the Kuomintang.

For Lü Zijian, although he regretted that he had not been able to go into battle to kill the enemy, he felt that the latter was more important than protecting Chiang Kai-shek's safety.

In 1945, The American five-star general Marshall came to China, and at that time, he was accompanied by a bodyguard, the American boxer Tom John.

As soon as this Tom John arrived in Chongqing, he immediately set up a ring in the local area and threatened to single out the Chinese martial arts. Although this person's move is very arrogant, he does have a good real kung fu.

American boxer

With the passage of time, many martial artists in Chongqing came to power to challenge, and eventually they were defeated. And Tom John is vicious, and the challengers are either dead or mutilated.

During this time, Tom John, who has been arrogant to the point of contempt for the world, has made wild remarks, saying that Chinese kung fu is not worth mentioning, and even more shameless, insulting Chinese is the "sick man of East Asia".

Lü Zijian had also heard about this earlier, but as a generation of masters, he no longer bothered to worry about such people. Only after hearing Tom John's insulting words, he was furious and immediately went to look for Chiang Kai-shek and asked to go to power to compete.

After consulting Marshall and Tom John, Chiang Kai-shek agreed to Lü Zijian's request. As soon as Tom John inquired, he learned of Lü Zijian's great name and his prestige in Chinese martial arts, so he strongly demanded the signing of a life and death certificate, intending to kill Lü Zijian and completely destroy the beliefs of Chinese martial artists.

Soon after, the two signed a life and death contract and met in Nanshan, Chongqing. Many of Lu Zijian's former friends came to persuade him not to go, after all, Tom John was only in his thirties, and he was already 52 years old. "Fist is afraid of less strong" is not a joke.

Lü Zijian, the great hero of the Yangtze River: Looking at the East Asian sick man sign sent by Japan, he said to Huo Yuanjia: Return it

But for Lü Zijian, the four words "sick man of East Asia" are the biggest shame to Chinese. I think of my former friend Huo Yuanjia, who was poisoned to death because of the persecution of the Japanese. However, the scene when the two smashed the plaque and swept through the Japanese martial arts museum is still vividly remembered. Today's American provocations, even if they die, they still have to fight for the people of their countrymen.

After the competition began, the result did not appear the fierce scene of you fighting with each other, but what surprised everyone was that when Tom John cheated on him, Lu Zijian took a step and directly knocked Tom John to the ground with a bagua palm, unable to move.

After Tom John was carried down, in fact, his internal organs had been injured by Lu Zijian's palm strength, and he was urgently sent abroad for treatment on the third day. As a result, because of his serious injuries, he died of serious injuries during the flight of the plane.

Lü Zijian's move greatly Chinese and gave imperialism a deep blow. In those turbulent times, it was precisely such righteous men who came out to do justice.

It is reasonable to say that after Chiang Kai-shek heard this news, he would naturally praise Lü Zijian vigorously. However, Lü Zijian not only did not get appreciation, but instead blamed Chiang Kai-shek for this incident, and eventually let him remove him on the spot for reflection, and his rank was demoted from major general of the Kuomintang to colonel.

During the Liberation War, Lü Zijian rejected Chiang Kai-shek's proposal to go to Taiwan. Later, after the founding of New China, he was branded a "counter-revolutionary" and sent to Xinjiang for reform.

Later, according to Lü Zijian's own dictation, because he was good at traditional Chinese medicine to treat diseases, he was assigned to treat road construction workers. During this time, a strange thing happened.

Near the railway, Lü Zijian found an empty house as an infirmary. When entering the house, two foxes suddenly jumped out of the grass, and the co-workers picked up sticks to fight, only to be pulled by Lu Zijian.

After the two foxes ran away, leaving a young fox behind, Lü Zijian adopted it. Give it food and drink every day. It wasn't until the little fox grew up that he let it go back into the mountains.

Later, when the spirit happened, every night when it was quiet, the little fox would run back to the door of Lü Zijian and give him a bitten hare or plateau rat. Later, after the road construction was over, Lü Zijian was assigned to work on the farm, and the fox still did not abandon it. In the end, it was even more thanks to its help that Lü Zijian survived the most difficult years.

In 1979, Lü Zijian returned to Chongqing, where he had been away for more than two decades, when he was 86 years old. At this time, Chongqing was already a thing and a person, and because his children and grandchildren were implicated by him, their lives were also very difficult.

Soon after, the government implemented the policy for Lü Zijian and prepared a 30-square-meter shop for him, allowing Lü Zijian to practice medicine.

Because Lü Zijian's medical skills are superb, there is an endless stream of people who come to see a doctor, and many young people come to learn from teachers. In just 6 years, Lü Zijian, with his own efforts and the help of people from all walks of life, built a large house of thousands of square meters on the new street on the south bank of Chongqing as a teaching place for "Lü Zijian Martial Arts".

As the martial arts hall grew larger, Lü Zijian's reputation became more and more popular. As the outside world learns about him, more and more people invite him to participate in the event.

In 1995, 102-year-old Lü Zijian was invited to visit the United States. In 2002, he visited Hong Kong at the invitation of Hong Kong celebrity Fok Ying Tung. In 2004, Lü Zijian went to chengdu police academy to teach students the secret method of capturing the enemy. In 2005, he performed "Bagua Palm" at the Dalian International Elderly Products Expo.

In his daily life, Lu Zijian got up at 6 o'clock every morning on time, practiced Bagua palm for an hour and then ate two eggs, two steamed buns, and two or two noodles. Eat two bowls of rice for lunch with meat and vegetarian dishes. In the evening a bowl of rice plus one or two vegetarian dishes.

One day in June 2009, 116-year-old Lu Zijian got up from bed in the bathroom, slipped under his feet and fell, causing intracranial hemorrhage, and later underwent emergency surgery at the city hospital. Although the old man's body recovered quickly, after being discharged from the hospital, his family and apprentices felt that his body was not as good as before. Family members said that the amount of exercises he usually practiced began to decrease compared to before. But his thinking and living are still relatively normal.

Hu Chengli, an 83-year-old neighbor of Lü Zijian, said: "Lü Zijian's body is very good and he does not like to drink. I've never seen him fight or get angry with anyone. ”

On October 21, 2012, Lü Zijian died at the Shangxin Street Martial Arts Museum in Chongqing at the age of 118. After the news of Lü Zijian's death came out, it caused great repercussions inside and outside the Chinese martial arts circle.

Throughout Lü Zijian's life, when he was born, the country was under the encroachment of the great powers. When he became an adult, he relied on a martial art to fight against foreign enemies and resist Japan to save the country, and he was called a veritable "Hero of the Yangtze River".
