BMW Brilliance Supply Chain is carrying out a new 1 Series (codename LUNext) assembly project to renovate, dismantling two LU (current 1 Series) axle production lines in the existing production hall and building two new LUNext axle production lines in its original location. After the expansion, the company will no longer produce LU axles, adding 150,000 new units of LUNext axles. BMW's all-new 1 Series sedan is expected to be lengthened after domestic production, and the overall size is larger than the current model.

The new 1 Series hatchback version has been tested overseas, and the new car is expected to adopt a larger kidney grille, L-shaped daytime running lights similar to the 3 Series, and the M-sporty three-section bumper below; The side of the car will adjust the waistline, wheel shape, etc.; The rear end will be replaced with a new style light cluster, and the bumper shape will be adjusted accordingly. The interior of the new 1 Series will most likely adopt the latest family design, with dual screens and a small electronic gear lever.

Referring to the domestic X1 of the same class, the new 1 series sedan will also be available with 1.5T three-cylinder and 2.0T engines, with maximum power of 115kW and 150kW, and peak torque of 230Nm, 300Nm, respectively, and all series are matched to 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmissions.
