After the sweep of GEN, Doran: I don't want to make any excuses for failure, just play poorly!

Perhaps no one expected before the match that LCK's No. 1 seed GEN would be swept 3-0 by BLG, and this series GEN was completely confused in the face of BLG's almost crazy charge, and was finally swept directly. For GEN, this result is obviously unacceptable, and the Korean Net's poor performance of GEN is even more criticized.

After the game, GEN also accepted a media group interview.

After the sweep of GEN, Doran: I don't want to make any excuses for failure, just play poorly!

Q: What did the GEN team gain from this MSI competition? SEPARATELY, GEN HAS BEEN PLAYING WITH A NEW SQUAD THIS SEASON. How did MSI help you improve team collaboration?

Doran: This race ended so quickly for us, I felt empty and full of regrets -- and ... We arrived in London and realised we weren't in a good situation and were doing really badly, but we worked together to turn things around and make progress, and I think this team effort was very positive. Of course, I'm really sad. But I want to go back to Korea and use this experience to become better.

Q: Reflecting on this MSI, what is the most important area for GEN? BLG is very positive today, what do you think are BLG's strengths today?

Doran: We had a lack of communication before the team battles, and our team battles were much less coordinated than other teams at MSI. In addition, BLG picked some combinations that were strong in the early stages and managed to overwhelm us.

Q: You're working hard, Doran. This is the last race of your MSI journey, what was the inspiration from MSI?

Doran: Playing against LPL teams and BLGs throughout MSI certainly showed us how bad we are as a team and how much we can learn from; Actually, I also gained a lot from this MSI. I want to leave no regrets here at MSI, but our end here is too abrupt, and now I feel very empty and do leave with regrets.

Q: What is GEN's BP priority between Jinx and Ephilus, and what is the reason behind this prioritization?

Doran: We often consider the overall lineup of the enemy team and choose which off-path hero to use on a case-by-case basis. I would say that both Ephelius and Jinx are excellent throughout MSI and it is difficult to rate whether Epellius or Jinx is better than each other.

Q: Throughout the tournament, you have to face all the LPL and LCK singles, have you noticed the difference in style between LPL singles? Among these singles players, what kind of player are you yourself?

Doran: Most of the roadrunners were practicing tanks when they competed in this MSI race. But Bin has always stuck with his [carry] style of play, and even with this release, I really admire that of Bin. As for myself – there wasn't a single game here at MSI and I was happy with my performance. I realized that as a player, I still have a lot to do.

Q: You face both T1 and BLG in this race, who do you think will win tomorrow's series?

Doran: We lost against T1 and BLG, so I'm not very good for judgment or prediction. But I want to see the same LCK team win the whole race, so I want T1 to win.

Q: GEN won the 2022 LCK Summer Championship, but at the 2022 World Championship, you lost to DRX. Then, this year, you won the LCK Spring Tournament again, but were once again beaten 3-0 by BLG. Doran, what do you think is the reason why GEN often gets worse results in international competitions?

Doran: I don't really want to make any excuses for our failures, and I think part of it is because we don't interpret the version well. Plus, we're worse than the enemy team in terms of competition, it's that simple, and I think that's a big reason.

Q: Can you tell me about the LPL team's style of play? What makes LPL's team perform so well in this competition?

Doran: JDG and BLG are both LPL teams, but I would say that they play very differently. But one thing these two teams have in common is -- they're really good at actively fighting in groups. It's really difficult for these two teams to go against any player in any position on these teams.

Q: This concludes your MSI tournament as the first seed of LCK, what is Doran player's biggest regret about MSI? Is there anything that makes you think, "We could have done better"?

Doran: I'm not 100% sure of this answer, I'm not quite sure what can be done, but maybe there could have been better heroes for us to use. All the teams are playing on the same conditions, but I personally feel that we lack the time to prepare for MSI matches, and I don't have the opportunity to try and experiment with different heroes. This is my regret.
