On the morning of October 11, the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and Northwestern Polytechnical University signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Chengdu. Peng Qinghua, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, met with Zhang Wei, Secretary of the Party Committee of Northwestern Polytechnical University, and Wang Jinsong, President of Northwestern Polytechnical University, and witnessed the signing of the agreement.

During the meeting, Peng Qinghua, Zhang Wei and Wang Jinsong exchanged views on deepening cooperation in the fields of jointly building an industrial innovation platform, promoting the transformation of scientific research achievements, and jointly carrying out talent training around the needs of serving the major strategic layout of the country and the needs of Sichuan's economic and social development.

Yu Lijun, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and director of the Organization Department, presided over the signing ceremony of the agreement and introduced the relevant situation of the agreement, and Vice Governor Cao Lijun and Wang Jinsong signed a strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of the two sides. According to the agreement, Northwestern Polytechnical University will establish a high-level communication mechanism and a departmental convergence implementation mechanism with our province to jointly promote the implementation of cooperation matters such as strategic decision-making consultation, promote scientific and technological innovation and achievement transformation, strengthen talent exchange and training, and better serve the implementation of Sichuan's strategic deployment of "one cadre and many branches, five-district coordination", "four-way expansion, global opening-up" and the construction of a world-class university with Chinese characteristics and world-class universities, so as to make new and greater contributions to the realization of national high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and self-reliance.
