In the field of semiconductors, the most taboo is the leakage of core confidential data of semiconductors, and the general enterprises have a strong sense of self-protection in core technologies and a tough attitude. However, if this matter is linked to the United States, it is a different matter.
Earlier, American semiconductors also urged major chip manufacturers to submit key data to the United States on the issue of global chip shortage. But almost no international chip manufacturers have any "involuntary" attitude to this matter, which shows that they have no other way to get the data obtained by the United States.
Coincidentally, Samsung's semiconductor data was also imported into the United States unchanged some time ago, and there was no action on the US side.
The reason is that less than 20 days after Samsung introduced ChatGPT, there were 3 data breaches, 2 of which were related to confidential data in semiconductor devices. And these data are imported into the US companies intact in the mouth of the Korean media, so Samsung has to ban the internal use of ChatGPT.
However, Samsung has no other actions other than the means of banning, which is somewhat unpleasant. After all, at the beginning, when it came to the leakage of confidential data in the mainland market (referring to the leakage of semiconductor cleaning equipment technology by former SEMES researchers), Samsung chose to appeal, and finally alluded to our "occupation" of their technology.
In fact, Samsung's solutions are almost consistent with the United States, for example, after the leak reappeared, Samsung still chose to investigate and appeal.
It is reported that there was a core technology data leak in Samsung Electronics' semiconductor business, in this regard, Samsung asked the relevant agencies to investigate, and on top of the core data leakage, Samsung said that it would appeal the matter, because the secret leakage of technical assets has constituted a violation. Obviously, Samsung's attitude towards this technical leak and the leakage of core secrets to US companies at that time is very different. As for why there is such a difference, there must be no need to say more, everyone knows it.
It's just that Samsung's leakage of core secrets this time is going to ring a "wake-up call" for us again.
In the past, once it came to technology leaks, they all wanted to dump this pot on our heads, and Samsung's operation has been strange, and even ASML has said openly and implicitly that we copy their technology and so on. And almost every time we face a technology leakage incident, once it becomes big, then our mainland market basically can't wash away the "crime of wanting to add". And this time, it happened to be the turn of Korean companies to plummet in the mainland market share, and at the same time, South Korean semiconductors are likely to join forces with American semiconductors to form a four-party chip agreement, Samsung has another technology leakage, which has to make people guess that Samsung is taking the opportunity to provoke trouble.
The most important thing is that Samsung has also had patent disputes with BOE and other companies, and Samsung is the defendant. Therefore, it is a coincidence that Samsung has another technology leak this time. Moreover, to put it mildly, an international manufacturer has suffered so many losses in technology leakage, does Samsung have no solution at all? And look at SMIC, TSMC, Intel and other semiconductor companies such as how rarely similar things happen? Samsung not only happens a lot, but most of them want to involve Chinese companies, which has to make us suspicious.
It is true that technology leakage should be taken seriously, but personally I think Samsung sometimes does not want to be too much "cannon fodder", and making things out of nothing will only make it lose the trust of more customers in the market, after all, based on customers, they are not very willing to have this kind of technology leakage at any time.
