Chinese serow (scientific name: Capricornis milneedwardsii) is a bovine family, iguana, body length 1.4-1.7 meters, shoulder height 0.9-1 meters, weight 85-140 kg, mainly active in 1000~4400 meters coniferous mixed forest, coniferous forest or rocky mixed shrub forest.
Usually in the forest zone in winter, summer transfer to high-altitude cliff areas, except for males who are always active alone, females and cubs live in small groups of up to 4-5 animals, mostly active in the morning and dusk, agile and running quickly among rocks.
They are found in Cambodia, China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam, and are one of the typical animals in the tropical and subtropical regions of southeast Asia. Its horns like a deer are not deer, its hooves are like cows but not cows, its head is like a sheep is not a sheep, and its tail is like a donkey is not a donkey, so it is called "four unlike" along with reindeer, moose and elk. Because it was first found in Sumatra, Indonesia, it is also called Sumatra.
In recent years, the Guangxi Daming Mountain Management Bureau has continuously increased the investment in the information monitoring system, and has successively monitored rare wild animals such as forest musk deer, Chinese serow, Baimei Mountain partridge, ocelot, etc., which has provided valuable image data for enriching the species database of the reserve and carrying out wildlife ecological research. It is believed that in the continuous advancement of the construction of smart reserves, more and more rare wildlife activity scenes can be discovered and recorded.
