The Mainland University Advancement Subsidy Scheme is a subsidy scheme provided by the Education Bureau of Hong Kong to students pursuing undergraduate programmes in the Mainland. According to Hong Kong's 01.com on May 10, Legislative Council information shows that the number of students benefiting from the scheme has risen steadily in recent years, from 3,147 in the 2018/19 academic year to 4,422 in the 2021/22 academic year. The total number of students processed as of early March for the 2022/23 academic year is 4,193, with a further 700 applications being processed, with the Hong Kong Education Bureau estimating that the final number will reach about 4,500.
