This has been a busy year for FromSoftware, such as the mecha action game Core Armor 6: Realm Skyfire, which will be released on August 25. They are also working on Elden's first paid expansion, "Shadow of the Golden Tree". Last February, the developer did not provide further details beyond some concept art about the dark "Golden Tree" and Miquella.

However, the expansion project appears to have taken longer to develop than many believe. Ziostorm found a LinkedIn profile of Kenneth (Kin Yue) Chan, lead game designer and design manager for Elden Law Ring and producer/co-director of Core Armored 6, on Twitter. Since April 2022, they are also the lead game designer/design manager for the new expansion.

At the moment, the size of the expansion or when it will be released is not indicated, but rumors say it will be released after Core Armor 6. So, if not early 2024, it could come later this year.
