The 380th anniversary of Trudon, a royal fragrance manufacturer that spans the ages

author:The little brother escaped

To celebrate Trudon380, the royal perfume maker continues secular techniques and has made a name for himself in the art of perfumery. Founded in 1643 as a royal wax factory, Trodon has since led the history of the industry and withstood the test of the times: whether it is illuminating a room or displaying the French art de vivre, Trodon products have always been the origin of nobility, the essence of royalty. The Truton family made candles from the 17th to the 19th century.

Driven by this tradition, Trodon has maintained a unique position throughout history and expanded its product catalog. Known and recognized for the quality of its functional candles, while tapered candles are naturally linked to religious ceremonies, today Truton continues to thrive on historical moments and souvenirs: in collaboration with the Union of Museums National de France, busts of Marie Antoinette, Lafayette or Napoleon reproduce classic sculptures in wax. What's more, the candle is adorned with a historic gold coat of arms that alludes to the grandeur of Versailles or the Château de Trianon, and many of the scents are homages to French history.

With a great reputation, Royal Wax Manufacturing has always been hailed as one of the finest and most professional products in its field: for the past 380 years, Crodon has manufactured its own products and has been adapting its technology to the times in which it operates.

In everyday life, Trodon represents the timeless French art de vivre, and its manufacture also serves as an interior decoration to celebrate unique moments, with rare, scented candles such as violets or bizarre objects. For example, La Promeneuse, reinvented a relief full of light and smell rituals and scents.

Trudon's story is closely related to perfume: as early as the 18th century, manufacturers produced scented candles. Today, perfume is the premium essence of Trudon, and its raison d'être: complex perfumes not only encapsulate rich historical moments, but also use rare ingredients. Trudon's motto "Deo regique laborant" – meaning "Bees serve God and King" – is a good example: its principles can be found in Solis Rex, Spiritus Sancti or Cire perfumes. Other bold and charismatic personalities stand out in the scented candles, such as Madeleine or Ernesto, and no matter what era, royal perfume makers mastered unique techniques and regarded perfume as an art form.

A tribute to French tradition

On the occasion of its 380th anniversary, Trodon dives into history and launches a new collection of fragrances – the Tuileries collection, all in four candle sizes and a diffuser – alluding to French tradition and the countless stories it carries. The series was inspired by a precious document preserved in the French National Archive: the Paris Gazette Artur de la Rennes. In a seemingly ordinary notebook, Countess Genevieve Dowson – a French courtier who served as Marie Antoinette's handmaiden and first bridesmaid – collected many samples of fabrics that were used to tailor many clothes and royal costumes for the monarchs.
