Brazilian President Lula said: "I have seen in Brazil the tragic consequences that occur when political dialogue is denied. My friends, in the face of rising geopolitical tensions, we must unite to address this set of challenges. ”
Lula also advocates multilateralism. He believed that the current model of global governance was no longer able to meet the current challenges, and he advocated reform of the United Nations to ensure that the Council's proceedings were more representative and its decision-making was more effective.
Lula arrived in Portugal on the 21st for an official visit and participated in the 13th Portuguese-Brazilian Summit. At the end of the summit, Portugal and Brazil signed a joint statement underlining their commitment to international law, the UN Charter and the peaceful resolution of conflicts. The two sides also signed 13 bilateral cooperation agreements in the fields of education, justice, medical care, economy and culture.
