Then it is not surprising that the twist came, the new brand (Ruixian) new work (PB10) really made a big change in my concept, the tuning is more durable, especially the popular vocals, the quality and emotion are equally important, instrumental music and vocal music are both balanced, and it is a very sophisticated headphone with a very sophisticated tuning.
Packaging & Accessories
The packaging envelope is relatively low-key, mainly brown and black, and the product picture is more interesting, and the headphones are arranged in the style of musical notes.
On the back is the product characteristics and specifications, etc., it can be seen that PB10 is a hybrid architecture of planar diaphragm and moving iron unit, which belongs to the popular architecture in the past two years.
The inner packaging is a heaven and earth cover structure, the headphones are fixed separately, and below are the earphone bag, cable and earphone cover.
PB10 is equipped with a 6N oxygen-free copper silver-plated wire, 8 strands of 392 cores, directly equipped with a 4.4mm balanced plug, and the headphone end is also a 0.78mm two-pin plug, this configuration is basically full, ready to use, no need to toss the upgrade cable. PS: The appearance, workmanship and softness of this wire are good, and the price of selling it separately should not be low.
The headphone sleeve comes with two types, each of three sizes, namely diamond silicone sleeve and two-color silicone sleeve, the two are still different in sound, and the listening part will be described in detail later.
Headphone body and acoustic architecture
The appearance of PB10 is not stunning at a glance, but it belongs to the eye-catching type, the panel part is hand-painted pattern, gold dust and quicksand silver, the texture is good, not ostentatious.
The shell and cavity are made of metal, CNC process, and the surface is sprayed with fine zirconium sand, which maintains the metallic luster and texture while not easy to leave fingerprints.
The earbud body is heavy, so the sampling hanging ear wear, the curvature of the inner cavity is good, it can fit the pinna, and the sound insulation and comfort are guaranteed.
The PB10 adopts a combination of a 10mm flat diaphragm unit and a single-action iron unit, which is one of the most popular architectures at present. The value of attention is that this flat diaphragm unit is self-developed by Ruixian, named "Xunlei Biodiaphragm Flat Plate Unit", the sound area of its flat plate diaphragm unit is about 80%, compared with the ordinary flat diaphragm unit 60% of the effective sound area increased by 20%, plus "special extremely thin 2μm biomimetic multilayer composite diaphragm" (official word), under the same unit size, the sound efficiency is higher, the loudness is greater, and the low-frequency dive will be better, without additional (dynamic coil) low-frequency unit correction, and the impedance is lower, only 12Ω, Ideal for pairing with a front end like a mobile phone or a small tail.

I roughly sorted out the acoustic design ideas of PB10, took the high-performance flat diaphragm unit as the upper replacement of the moving coil unit, solved the problem of sound efficiency of the small-sized flat unit for earbuds, improved the energy conversion ratio, improved the frequency response range, highlighted the advantages of the flat diaphragm as a transducible sound method, good density sense, good transient response and other characteristics; The moving iron unit is used to assist the intermediate frequency band to enhance vocal performance and sound field restoration, and the sound characteristics of the two units are similar without a sense of separation.
Note: PB10, the combination of flat diaphragm unit and moving iron unit, in theory, has more advantages than the hybrid architecture of moving coil unit and moving iron unit, because the flat plate diaphragm unit and moving iron unit have similar sound characteristics, better transient response and density sense, and there will be no separation sense of abnormal frequency band connection and transient inconsistency.
Subjective hearing and collocation
According to the official description and recommendation, PB10 does not have high requirements for the front end, some small and medium-thrust players can do it, and because of the low impedance of the flat diaphragm unit, it is not recommended to use a high gain front end.
However, I personally think that the small thrust front end of the 4.4mm balance port is quite difficult to find, so there is no need to worry about the thrust, the Bluetooth ear amplifier and small tail can be used, but to avoid the "loud and thick" front end.
The first listening is with Sony's ZX707, the track is Faye Wong's "Reserved", PB10 presents a texture and delicacy that many headphones are nothing more than comparable, especially the texture, it is difficult to express in words and words, delicate, not sweet and moist, not dry and astringent, the mood is cold and warm, just right close to the mood in the song.
PB10 has a weakened tooth tone, but does not affect the details between the lips and teeth, the vocals have no additional rendering, loyal to the original taste, plus the sense of high density and the texture of the flat diaphragm itself, compared to the general dynamic unit, it is very toxic in the vocal part, you can try to compare it with unplugged and lyrical tracks. In terms of fineness, texture and density, the PB10's vocal performance is rare in its class.
In the low frequency and very low frequency parts, the PB10 also shows the characteristics of my ideal flat plate diaphragm unit, with extremely low dive and ample volume, as well as moderate transient performance, and its sound is more transparent than that of ordinary dynamic unit, and more natural than that of starting iron unit. In "Yanhuang First Drum" and "Oni Taiko Drum Seat", while the oppressive momentum can be restored, the texture of different drums can also be restored well.
In the high-frequency and extremely high-frequency parts, if the paper parameters are alone, the upper limit of the frequency response of PB10 is only 20kHz, which is indeed lacking in sight compared to the current unit of the rapid parameters. But compared to the Xuan and Xuan air sense, the PB10 violin has a rich and moist timbre, perfect details, melodious and enduring, and the overall performance is also good, but there will be a lack of sharpness in the Allegro repertoire, and the killing spirit is not enough.
In terms of sound field restoration, the openness of PB10 is moderately high, capable of small orchestration chamber music and some live scenes, but not enough to fully support the scene of large-scale symphony, overall it is relatively good, the shape is regular, the depth is good, and the spatial position between instrumental music and vocals is also restored very well.
In the ACG track, I chose several "burning songs" of LiSA, PB10 in the vocal part of the texture is still very strong, glossy, bright, biting, while the mid-high frequency and high-frequency instrumental music has a certain softening, especially in the chorus part, slightly weakening the glitch feeling, so that the overall listening sense is more durable, which is also my personal favorite treatment, "let the burning song be slightly softer, you can listen to it for a long time"
Recently addicted to the soundtrack of "Little Broken Ball 2", I also auditioned it smoothly, PB10's low-frequency diving and dynamic performance are great, and the dynamic unit in the state of "big force is a miracle", with the wind of "big opening and closing", the sense of momentum is very good, the only drawback is the lack of a little hard gas.
As far as my comprehensive listening is concerned, the PB10 has a soft sound in the middle, which is very suitable for pop, jazz, R&B, rock, ACG and other pan-pop genres, and non-large-scale instrumental and classical music also has a good performance.
