Ruins of the 731 Devil Cave of the Japanese Army in Pingfang District, Harbin
Overseas network on September 3, the Russian side exposed a series of historical ironclad evidence, once again pointing to the heinous crimes committed by the Japanese Army's 731st Unit (Referred to as Unit 731). Takashi Ishida, a researcher at the Institute of International Peace at Meiji Gakuin University in Japan, told overseas networks that no matter how much the Japanese government tries to cover up historical facts, these cruel and inhumane crimes will still be made public.
Since August, the Russian Federal Security Service has exposed a series of historical evidence that the Japanese army conducted human germ tests in the Soviet Union during World War II. Ishida pointed out that this historical evidence, including the interrogation transcripts of the last commander-in-chief of the Kwantung Army, Yamada Etsuzo, was obtained during the Khabarovsk trial (the Soviet Trial of the Japanese army for germ warfare crimes). "I first studied the historical materials related to the germ warfare of Unit 731, and I was deeply shocked by the Khabarovsk trial in 1949. The trial shocked the world after the historical facts related to germ warfare were revealed. I look forward to combining the old and new historical materials to make the brutal crimes of the Japanese army public. ”
Unit 731 conducted vivisection experiments on Chinese and Russian victims, a brutal war crime that has long been confirmed by public historical records. But Ishida said that in addition to official archival records, some Japanese civilians have been investigating Unit 731 crimes for more than 30 years. For example, Ishida said that in the early 1980s, Japanese writer Seiichi Morimura published a series of books entitled "The Devil's Feast", revealing many undisclosed historical facts of the invasion of China by Unit 731. Since then, historians such as Takao Matsumura and Keiichi Tokishi have excavated historical truths through limited historical materials and published a series of research results. Matsumura, in particular, concentrated on collecting historical documents of Unit 731 in the hands of the Americans in the early 1990s and made outstanding contributions to research. He has also worked with a number of Chinese historians to investigate for many years, traveling around China to collect information on germ warfare victims. ”
In recent years, China has also been committed to excavating, collating and disclosing historical materials related to the War of Resistance Against Japan. Nowadays, archival historical materials from different countries are constantly being made public, and historical research has made progress in stages. Ishida believes that the voices of the victims of Japan's war of aggression against China have always been difficult to pay attention to, and the publication of new historical materials will prompt the world to pay attention to these voices. "No matter how much the Japanese government tries to cover up the facts, these cruel and inhumane crimes will still be made public." (Overseas Network Wang Shanning)
