The 2022-23 NBA regular season has ended, we can find that many veterans have begun to worry about their basketball careers after the 2023-24 season, the NBA has entered the replacement stage of new and old, many players may be eliminated by the NBA, and the 2023-24 season may not be able to participate in the NBA. They may have had to leave the NBA to play elsewhere for some reason. To that end, Fadeaway World listed 10 NBA players who could travel to China to play at the end of the 2023-24 season.
10. Harrell
In 2022-23, Harrell averaged 5.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 0.3 steals and 0.4 blocks per game. As the 2nd pick in the second round of the 2015 draft, Harrell, 29, was the sixth man of the year, but because of his unruly and blind arrogance, he had to be waived by the Clippers and Lakers. He played for the 76ers this season and is the team's third interior backup, earning $2.76 million a year in 2023-24. Harrell is almost impossible to get a big contract except for continuing to extend his base salary to stay in the NBA.
9. Warren
In 2022-23, Warren averaged 7.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.3 blocks per game. As the 14th pick in the first round in 2014, Warren was once seen as a copycat version of Leonard five years ago, and he had a chance to become an All-Star-level player, only to be nearly out of the NBA due to injury. Warren, who now plays for the Suns, is only 29 years old and has a one-year contract with a year-end salary. He could still go on to get a base-salary contract in the NBA.
8. Griffin
In 2022-23, Griffin averaged 4.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.3 steals and 0.2 blocks per game. Griffin currently plays for the Boston Celtics as the first pick in the first round in 2009, and the 34-year-old wants to win a championship in the NBA and doesn't care about being the team's backup. He has a chance to return to the NBA next season on a base-salary contract, and as Griffin, he won't be coming to China to play.
7. Thomas Bryant
In 2022-23, Thomas Bryant averaged 9.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.3 steals and 0.5 blocks per game. As the 12th pick in the second round in 2017, Thomas Bryant originally played for the Lakers averaging 12.1 points and 6.8 rebounds. In the end, I hoped that the Lakers would trade themselves to a team that could get more opportunities to perform, and as a result, they averaged only 4.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game with the Nuggets, halving the playing time per game. Thomas Bryant, 25, signed a one-year contract last year, and his performance with the Lakers was enough to land him an $8-10 million annual contract. Now, he is considered likely to leave the NBA and play in China.
6. Oladipo
In the 2022-23 season, Oladipo averaged 10.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.3 blocks per game. Oladipo is 30 years old as the 2nd pick in the first round in 2013, earning $9.45 million a year for the 2023-24 season. The 31-year-old Oladipo will likely not get a contract next year because he has a long injury history, he is no longer the person he used to be, and there is a good chance that he will be waived by the Heat in the offseason.
5. Myers Bridges
In the 2022-23 season, Myers Bridges did not sign with any team because of domestic violence and he missed all the games this season. As the 12th pick in the first round in 2018, 25-year-old Myers Bridges may travel to China to play and then return to the NBA when the domestic violence case is over.
4. Andre Drummond
In the 2022-23 season, Andre Drummond averaged 6.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.4 blocks per game. As the ninth overall pick in the first round in 2012, the 29-year-old Andre Drummond currently plays for the Chicago Bulls, and his role as the team's backup center is still quite large, and he has a chance to get a contract extension with the Bulls next season, and the Bulls desperately need someone to step up and support center Vucevic. But Andre Drummond failed to do so this season, and he could be dropped by the Bulls after the 2022-23 season and eventually travel to China to play.
3. Little Jordan
In the 2022-23 season, Jordan Jr. averaged 5.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game. Jordan Jr. is 34 years old as the 5th pick in the second round in 2008, and he has not played many games for the Nuggets this season. He may not be able to get a contract in the NBA next season, but he can play in the Chinese basketball league.
2. Ben Simmons
In 2022-23, Ben Simmons averaged 6.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.6 blocks per game. As the first pick in the first round in 2016, Ben Simmons is only 26 years old, although he has good talent, but does not have excellent autonomous offensive ability, as well as back injuries and mental problems, he may be waived by the NBA. American media once joked that he should go to the Shanghai men's basketball team, but if he does not play in the NBA, he may return to the Australian basketball league.
1. Cousins
For the 2022-23 season, Cousins did not sign to an NBA team. As the fifth overall pick in the first round in 2010, Cousins, 32, is one of the most likely NBA players to travel to China to play next season. However, he did not participate in the CBA league, but in the Taiwan Provincial League CBL. According to ESPN, sources revealed that Cousins will sign with the Metropolitan Guainavo of the Puerto Rico Basketball League. His first choice is to return to the NBA.
