From October 9th to 10th, the 8th Congress of Huainan City of the China Association for the Promotion of Democracy was successfully held at Dongshan Hotel. The congress heard and deliberated the work report of the Seventh Committee of the Huainan Municipal Committee of the China Association for the Advancement of Democracy, elected the Eighth Committee of the Democratic Advancement of Huainan City and the deputies of Huainan City to the Ninth Congress of the Anhui Province of the China Association for the Promotion of Democracy, and deliberated and adopted the resolution of the Eighth Congress of the China Association for the Promotion of Democracy in Huainan City.
On the morning of the 10th, the opening ceremony of the conference was held. Li Heping, vice chairman of the Anhui Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the Anhui Provincial Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy, and Wang Qianshen, deputy secretary of the Huainan Municipal CPC Committee, attended and spoke at the meeting. Present at the meeting were Dai Min, vice chairman of the Anhui Provincial CPC Committee; Gao Guoyou, secretary general of the Anhui Provincial CPC Committee; Peng Fenglian, member of the Supervisory Committee of the Anhui Provincial CPC Committee and vice chairman of the Wuhu Municipal CPC Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy; Zhang Haibo, director of the Organization Department of the Anhui Provincial CPC Committee of the China Democratic Progressive Party Committee; Yang Daorong, deputy director of the United Front Work Department of the Huainan Municipal CPC Committee; and principal responsible comrades of various democratic parties and the Federation of Industry and Commerce in Huainan City.
On behalf of the Anhui Provincial CPC Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy, Li Heping extended warm congratulations to the opening of the meeting and spoke highly of the achievements made by the Seventh Committee of the Huainan Municipal Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy. He pointed out that over the past five years, the Huainan Minjin has always adhered to taking ideological construction as the core, taking scientific development as the guideline, and taking self-construction as the basis, actively performing the basic functions of participating in and discussing state affairs, exercising democratic supervision, and participating in political consultations under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, and has raised all work to a new level. He demanded that the new leading body should focus on strengthening its own construction, know its responsibilities in its heart, shoulder its responsibilities, perform its duties in deeds, unite and lead its members to continue their struggles, and strive to build huainan minjin into a local organization that is politically firm, solidly organized, effective in performing its duties, has a fine work style, has a sound system, has ideals, pursuits, results, and influence, and displays the new deeds of the democratic parties in the new era.
On behalf of the Huainan Municipal CPC Committee, Wang Qianshen congratulated the meeting and affirmed the achievements made by the Huainan Municipal CPC Committee. He pointed out that in the past five years, the Huainan Municipal CPC Committee has achieved new results in ideological construction, made new progress in organizational construction, achieved new improvements in the ability to perform duties, and achieved new results in social services, thus making positive contributions to promoting the economic and social development of Huainan City. It is hoped that the new Municipal Committee of the Democratic Progressive Party will strengthen political guidance, adhere to the original intention of cooperation, focus on the central work, bravely undertake the mission of the times, strengthen its own construction, establish a good image, and make new and greater contributions to accelerating the construction of a new stage of modernization and beautiful Huainan.

On the afternoon of the 10th, the closing ceremony of the conference was held. The 8th Committee of The 13-member Minjin Huainan City Committee was elected. The first plenary session of the eighth session held during the meeting elected a new chairman team, Zhang Tianshu was elected chairman of the committee, and Man Mingshan, Zhang Lixiang, and Wang Xiangli were elected vice chairmen.
On behalf of the Huainan Municipal CPC Committee and the United Front Work Department of the Huainan Municipal CPC Committee, Yang Daorong, deputy director of the United Front Work Department of the Huainan Municipal CPC Committee, expressed warm congratulations on the complete success of the meeting and congratulated the newly elected leading group of the Huainan Municipal CPC Committee for the Advancement of Democracy. He expressed the hope that the new leading body will take the change of term as a new starting point, strengthen its political convictions, and enhance its ability to grasp politics; give play to its advantageous role and enhance its ability to perform its duties; and strengthen its own construction and raise the level of work.
At the closing ceremony, Dai Min, on behalf of the Anhui Provincial Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy, spoke highly of the departed members of the Municipal Party Committee of the Seventh Committee of the Democratic Progressive Party of Huainan City, expressed warm congratulations to all the newly elected members of the Committee of the Democratic Progressive Party of Huainan City, and put forward requirements.
