Do you really understand, Ali, where is it? Is the whole west of Lhasa, all Ali?
That's definitely not.
Many people went to Lhasa, chartered cars and drove some Ali rings, all the way to Kailash Zhuanshan, that is Ali; to the Guge Dynasty, Mapang Yongcuo, that is Ali; also to the holy lake Namtso, Dang Yao Yong Tso, Everest, etc., but these do not belong to Ali.
Where is Ali?
Ali region, the only region in Tibet, includes 7 counties: Pulan, Zada, Gar, Ritu, Geji, Jieze, and Tsoqin.
From the following figure, we can clearly see that the Ali region is indeed in the western part of Tibet, but if you think that the west of Lhasa, or the whole of northern Tibet, belongs to Ali, it is a big mistake.
Half of northern Tibet, except for Ali, is under the jurisdiction of Nagqu City.
The holy lake of Bon, Dang Yong Tso, is under the jurisdiction of the city of Nagqu;

At this time, some people may have to ask, then why are they all Ali ring lines, how can they be divided into seven or eight days, ten days? Isn't it the same line? Of course not!
Ali Ring Line, according to the difficulty of the route, is mainly divided into four lines: the Great Northern Line, the Central North Line, the Little North Line and the South Line.
1. Southern Route:
Lhasa - Yanghu - Everest - Sacred Mountain Sacred Lake - Guge Dynasty - Lhasa, the same way back.
2. Great Northern Line:
On the basis of the southern line, continue from the Guge Dynasty to the Shiquan River, which is the starting point of the northern line, and take a circular line to Lhasa.
Many people are afraid when they see "big", thinking that the Great Northern Line is the most difficult to walk, which is wrong, this is actually a relatively easy line to take.
Along national highway 317, from Shiquan River to Jieze County, all the way is asphalt road, the road conditions are very good, but you will miss the "one mistake and one mistake" multiple plateau lakes, which happen to be the essence of the northern line.
Third, the Central and Northern Line (one mistake and one mistake):
Starting from Shiquan River to Zhongba County, all the way is a dirt road, or more specifically "no road at all", rampaged through the wasteland, very bumpy, but no beauty will be missed.
This route connects the lakes in the north of Ali like a rosary, starting from the village of Munbu Nam, with the Bon holy lake Dang Ja Yong Tso, then to the Zazhi Nam Mucuo near TsoQin, then through Zabuyy Chaka, Renqing XiuBu Tso to Rendo, and finally through Anla Ren Tso to Yare, Hsiung Ba Township. This is the "one mistake and one wrong" route that people often hear.

Self-driving usually takes the Great Northern Line, because the Zhongbei Line can not find the direction (often there is no signal); chartered cars usually take the Zhongbei Line, the old driver is familiar with the road, the wasteland is running wild, and the Ali flavor is full.
4. Xiaobei Line (Ali Small Ring Road):
It takes 5-7 days to depart from Lhasa, via Shigatse, Tsoqin County, WenbuNan Village, Nyima County, Bangor County, and then back to Lhasa via Namtso. You can see the Ta Gyatso, Zhazhi Nam Musatsu, Dangja Yong Tso, Dang Qiong Tso and Nam Tso along the way.

Which line should I take?
The choice must go through a tangled process, and taking the Ali North Line is the best choice when funds and holiday time permit. Take the easy way, choose the Big North Line; experience the wild, choose the North Line.
If you have not been to Tibet, the first time you come, it is more reliable to take the Ali Southern Line.

(1) What are Ali's accommodation and medical conditions?
Conditions in Puran, Zada and Shiquanhe are still OK, and Zada also has four-star hotels to choose from. Other places due to the remoteness of the area, most of them are board houses, especially in TaChin, Shuanghu and other places, so it is recommended that you bring sleeping bags and cold clothing to Ali. The medical conditions here are also very poor, so it is recommended that you prepare some cold medicine, gastrointestinal medicine and other daily medicines before you leave.
(2) What do Ali need to pay attention to when driving?
Due to the backward conditions in ali area, many places are marked with highways on the map, but in fact, only dirt roads and even ruts are printed, if you take the central and northern lines, you must pay attention not to bicycle, at least about two cars to walk together, on the road car anchor, flat tires and so on can also have a care.

It is necessary to apply for a border guard certificate. Ali region is located in the northwest of Tibet, bordering Nepal, India and other countries, so the border permit is a must, the location of the certificate is written on the Ali area and the border counties covered by the route.
Previously, the border guard permit could be issued at the place where the household registration was located before going to Tibet, or you could go to Lhasa to find a travel agency to handle it. Agency is the most convenient, the peak season fee is about 100 yuan / person, but the team of at least four people is required to start. Individual tourists are not allowed to apply for border guards in Lhasa.

When is the most suitable time to go to Ali?
