Last year I bought my second sweeping robot for my home, but also my family's first all-round sweeping robot, I have to say that in navigation and obstacle avoidance, cleaning ability, ease of use and other aspects, the new all-round sweeping robot compared to many years ago my family's first basic sweeping robot can be described as an all-round improvement, this year because the new studio also needs a sweeping robot, so I started two big brand new products: Cobos T20 and Stone G20.
In the past period, I found that sweeping robots can indeed improve the quality of life in some aspects, but need to choose the right products, this article combines the use of Cobos T20 and Stone G20 to talk about my understanding of how to choose an all-round sweeping robot.
All-round sweeping robot
According to the function, the sweeping robot can be divided into: basic sweeping model, washing mop model, and all-round sweeping model.
The earliest sweeping robot only has a sweeping function, and then gradually there is no robot with a separate sweeping function, replaced by a basic sweeping robot, the robot host can sweep and mop the floor, the base station charges or charges the robot + dust collection, but the base station cannot clean the mop, and the user needs to clean it manually.

The base station of the all-round sweeping robot contains the function of central dust collection and automatic washing mop, neither need to manually clean the mop in the process of cleaning the ground by the sweeping robot, nor do you need to manually pour the dust box after each cleaning of the ground by the sweeping robot.
Among the three types of sweeping and dragging robots, the all-round sweeping robot is more convenient to use, and the selection of an all-round sweeping robot can start from the following aspects: robot and base station design, navigation and obstacle avoidance, sweeping and dust collection, mopping and cleaning, intelligence and control, etc.
Design and details
The all-round sweeping robot is composed of two parts: robot and base station, compared with the design of the robot, the design and size of the base station affect the user's choice.

Cobos T20 and Stone G20 have automatic water supply and sewage modules, the former is an optional kit, the latter is divided into water supply and discharge version and water tank version, after purchase, there is a professional team to design and install.
After installing the water supply and sewage module, the Cobos T20 realizes the function of automatic water supply and sewage and automatic addition of cleaning fluid.
The water supply and sewage module of the Stone G20 is a closed design, and the cleaning liquid cartridge is located separately in front of the base station, allowing automatic dispensing of cleaning fluid regardless of whether the water supply and sewage version is selected.

Navigation and obstacle avoidance
Navigation and obstacle avoidance ability is a topic that cannot be avoided by sweeping robots, and the factors affecting navigation and obstacle avoidance ability are often hardware configuration and each algorithm.
The top LDS lidar is responsible for robot navigation, with the Cobos T20 using dToF navigation and the Stone G20 using LDS laser triangulation ranging navigation.
Compared with common LDS navigation, dToF navigation has the following advantages: 1. Closed design, not easy to enter gray, more stable signal; 2. Light and dark can achieve accurate navigation; 3. Cobos T20's dToF navigation has a sampling accuracy of 7200HZ and a sweeping distance of 10m, and the mapping speed is faster and more accurate.
Both sweeping robots support rapid mapping function, after arriving at home for the first time can choose quick mapping or direct whole house cleaning, in the rapid mapping mode, the robot will not reach all corners, will not run according to the subsequent cleaning route, here do not worry, the robot in all rooms "look" aside, quickly generate a map, because my room is not much, the rapid mapping time of the two sweeping robots is within 5 minutes.
Both the Cobos T20 and Stone G20 support 3D maps, where you can manually set the furniture type, furniture position, and floor material.
The obstacle avoidance hardware of the Cobos T20 adopts Ture Detect 3D 3.0 structured light obstacle avoidance, and the stone G20 adopts AI 3D structured light obstacle avoidance module.
In addition to the hardware configuration, the reasons affecting the actual obstacle avoidance ability of the sweeping robot include the system algorithm, and both robots are equipped with their latest systems.
The overall obstacle avoidance ability of the Cobos T20 is excellent, ensuring fast cleaning speed and coverage while rarely coming into contact with objects on the ground.
The obstacle avoidance ability of the Stone G20 is also very good, there are some changes after opening and closing pets and AI obstacle avoidance, the obstacle avoidance is slightly more aggressive after closing, it will have slight contact with the object, and after opening, it is much more cautious, and it starts to slow down and avoid obstacles when it is a little farther away from the item.
Occasional slight contact between the sweeping robot and the items on the ground does not mean that the obstacle avoidance ability is weak, because it is necessary to take into account the obstacle avoidance and cleaning coverage, so the robot sometimes has to approach the object during the cleaning process, and there are edge sensors (two Cobos T20, one stone G20) and physical touch sensors on the side of both robots.
Summary: The two sweeping robots are the best navigation and obstacle avoidance performance products of their respective brands, the hardware configuration and system are the latest, in the actual performance of obstacle avoidance, Cobos T20 can start to slow down and avoid obstacles when the distance is about 5cm away from small items, and can achieve accurate obstacle avoidance for most common items, and Cobos T20 can adopt different obstacle avoidance strategies for small objects/lines/furniture, etc., to achieve less stuck sleepiness, less winding, less missed sweeping, and no need to worry about frequent stuck trap errors; The Stone G20 also uses different obstacle avoidance strategies for different types of items, most notably the robot being significantly closer to large furniture and walls than to the line cluster.
Sweeping and dust collection
Factors affecting the sweeping ability of the sweeping robot include, but are not limited to: suction power and brush head (side brush, main brush). The maximum suction power of both sweeping robots has reached 6000Pa, which is the highest suction power in the current sweeping robot.
Often the greater the suction power, the louder the running sound, and both sweeping robots can be selected in multiple gears in the APP.
The brush head combination of Cobos T20 is a combination of bilateral brush + rubber bristle integrated brush, the bilateral brush covers a large area, and the efficiency of gathering garbage is high, but it requires intelligent system cooperation to avoid flying garbage, Cobos T20 performs well in this regard.
Cobos T20 adopts rubber wool integrated roller brush, the running noise is smaller, the brush can penetrate deep into the gap between the floors, clean up the dust in the gaps, with the top equipped with 6000PA super suction power, the hard floor dust removal capacity can reach up to 96%, more suitable for laying tiles or families with gaps between floors.
Stone G20 is a single-sided brush, the unilateral brush is not easy to fly garbage, but the coverage area is small, and it is necessary to cooperate with excellent route planning to improve cleaning efficiency and coverage.
On the Stone G20, the new main brush module is composed of two inner rolls of all-rubber roller brushes, which are excellent for hair and pet hair cleaning.
The base station of the two sweeping robots has an automatic dust collection function, and after the robot completes the ground cleaning and returns to the base station, the base station will collect dust, and the robot dust box is basically clean after dust collection.
The dust bag capacity of Cobos T20 is 3L, this dust bag is a clean odor and antibacterial material, the innermost layer of meltblown activated carbon clean odor material, three layers of high-efficiency filtration, effectively inhibiting a variety of bacteria including E. coli, and the antibacterial rate is ≥ 99.9%; The Stone bag claims to have an E12 filtration rating, and regardless of the Stone G20's 2.5L bag, the former is slightly larger, which means that Cobos' bag replacement cycle is longer.
Both dust bags have an automatic sealing design, so that no garbage will be spilled when the dust bag is replaced, and garbage will not come into contact with your hands.

Mopping and washing
The mopping module of the two sweeping robots is also completely different, Cobos T20 adopts 180 rpm lifting and rotating mop,
Stone G20 adopts a lifting and vibration flat mop with a vibration frequency of 3000 times/minute.
Cobos' double-disc long-haired rotary mop can be close to the uneven ground to complete cleaning, water retention and dust holding rate are very high, with the bottom wiper at the bottom of the cleaning bin and the body water tank precise water replenishment to ensure that the mop has constant humidity and is not overly damp, when cleaning dirty areas, the long-haired rotary mop has excellent cleaning power.
The moisture content of the flat mop is slightly lower, which can control the humidity more accurately, and the same needs the water tank of the fuselage to replenish water to ensure the constant humidity of the mop, the vibration area of the G20 mop is increased to two vibration areas, and the mop cleaning power is improved by increasing the vibration area, but for the area with more serious dirt, after the flat mop is cleaned, there are still a few stains on the ground, and the comprehensive cleaning power is still slightly weaker.
In the Cobos APP, you can set the mop moisture content and mop backwash interval, which can be set automatically in worry-free mode, select the fine mode for heavily soiled areas, and the Cobos T20 completes a thorough cleaning of the "heavy dirt" on the ground.

For heavily soiled areas, both sweeping robots can choose deep cleaning, in deep cleaning mopping mode, the robot wipes the floor in a more dense bow route, thus ensuring that the "heavy dirt" is completely wiped clean
The base station of both sweeping robots can automatically clean the mop, and the robot can be set to backwash at intervals or by zone.
The base station of Cobos T20 can be cleaned with hot water, and the ultra-fast heating system in the base station will raise the cleaning water temperature to 55 degrees Celsius, and the water temperature washing mop at 55 degrees Celsius can not only reach the melting point of common household greases, but also can not gelatinize starch, so as to clean the mop cleaner.
Hot water can also improve the overall decontamination ability by increasing the activity of the cleaning liquid, and the bottom of the base station cleaning tank is also relatively clean after the robot finishes cleaning.
The stone G20 has a special flat mop cleaning system, which does not scrape when the rubber scraper moves from right to left in the variable direction; When moving from left to right, the wiper strip will scrape solid dirt into the rightmost sink, and daily maintenance only needs to remove and clean the right filter.
It is easier to clean the flat mop than the long hair mop, with the deep cleaning mode, the dirt on the G20 flat mop can be cleaned up, but after the robot cleans the heavy oil area, the effect of cleaning the mop is still slightly weaker than hot water cleaning, after cleaning the heavily soiled area, it is recommended to use cleaning liquid, and manually carry out more mop cleaning steps.
The base stations of both sweeping robots have built-in hot air drying function, and hot air drying will be carried out after the robot completes the cleaning task and cleans the mop, and the preset drying time of 2 hours can basically dry the mop.
If it is by the sea or other humid areas, you can also change the drying time yourself.

The wall, furniture and carpet areas are the cleaning blind spots of many robots, and for these two areas, the Cobos T20 and Stone G20 have their own solutions.

When the robot sweeps the floor alone and needs to backwash the ground that has been cleaned, the mop will also be automatically lifted to avoid secondary pollution caused by the dirty mop to the cleaned ground area to the greatest extent.

Intelligence and handling
The sweeping robot is a relatively new type of smart home appliances, and most young people naturally do not have a problem using it, but whether the control is intuitive and convenient affects the use of some elderly people.
Both robots can achieve voice control, but there is a big difference in the settings, the Cobos T20 machine comes with voice interaction capabilities, through the YOKO voice control robot to complete the whole house cleaning, area cleaning, and even designated furniture location cleaning without any problem.
