These two days are weekends, writing about the two most confused emperors of the Eastern Han Dynasty.
Emperor Han Huan's mediocrity is very famous in the Eastern Han Dynasty, and there is a fight with Emperor Hanling, Huan and Ling can be described as a momentary Yuliang, but the opposite.
Zhuge Liang said in the "Table of Departures": "When the emperor was there, whenever he discussed this matter with his ministers, he did not sigh and hate Yu Huan and Lingye. "This Huan refers to the Han Huan Emperor, and the spirit is of course the Han Ling Emperor, and the Huan Emperor and the Ling Emperor are striding towards mediocrity, insisting on pushing the Eastern Han Dynasty to the road of extinction without giving in to each other, and going hand in hand.
Zhuge Liang came out of the master's table
In 146 AD, Emperor Han was poisoned by Liang Ji that night because he scolded the general Liang Ji for saying "General Bao". After the death of Emperor Zhen, the ministers led by the imperial lieutenant Li Gu, Situ Huguang, and Sikong Zhao Jie jointly discussed that Liu Garlic, the Prince of Qinghe, would succeed to the throne. However, Liang Ji thought that Liu Garlic was too shrewd (shrewd don't want to be stupid, no wonder the Eastern Han Dynasty was going to be finished), and chose Liu Garlic as emperor to be difficult to control in the future, and insisted on choosing 14-year-old Liu Zhi as emperor.
And the eunuch Cao Teng (Cao Cao's grandfather, not a relative, Cao Cao's father is Cao Teng's godson. The Hanshun Emperor Liu Bao was proclaimed emperor by a coup d'état by eunuchs, and issued an edict allowing the eunuchs to take in his son) Because when he visited Liu Garlic before, Liu Garlic was contemptuous of him, and had an opinion about Liu Garlic. After hearing about this, he conspired with Liang Ji at night to establish Liu Zhi as emperor. In the end, Liang Ji found his sister Liang Yu and asked Liang Yu to remove Li Gu from his position as a lieutenant in the name of the empress dowager, and forcibly made Liu Zhi emperor, known as Emperor Huan of Han. Although Qunchen was not satisfied, the power was in Liang Ji's hands, and he had no choice but to do anything.
Liu Zhi ascended the throne, and Liang Ji married his sister Liang Nuying to Emperor Huan as empress. Liang Nuying's sister is the Empress Dowager, her brother is a general, with the power of her sister and brother, Liang Nuying lives an extremely luxurious and wasteful life in the palace, the palace tent is richly carved, the costumes are gorgeous and precious, and the specifications of exquisite ornaments are twice as luxurious as in her previous life.
Liang Nuying
In order to obtain Liu Zhi's favor, Liang Nuying asked that no one in the palace except her be allowed to enter Emperor Han Huan without her consent. Liu Zhi himself was extremely lecherous and extremely dissatisfied with Liang Nuying, but because he was afraid of the Empress Dowager and the general, he did not dare to treat Liang Nuying.
In 150 AD, after the death of Empress Dowager Liang Yu, Liu Zhi began to frequently favor other palace concubines. Liang Nuying had no big backer, and she didn't dare to treat Liu Zhi like before. But he was still unwilling, so as long as he found that other palace concubines showed signs of pregnancy, they always had to find a way to get them aborted, and as a result, Liu Zhi did not leave a son until his death.
Although Liu Zhi was forced and feared by Liang Ji and did not dare to condemn and anger her, he was resentful of Liang Nuying and was unwilling to go to Liang Nuying's palace. In 159 AD, Liang Nuying finally died of sorrow and resentment.
After the death of Liang Nuying, Liu Zhi changed Liang Mengnu to empress, Liang Mengnu is the daughter of Liang Ji's uncle Liang Ji and her ex-husband (a little around, let's try to sort out their relationship, haha), originally surnamed Deng, and her mother changed her surname to Liang after marrying Liang Ji.
At this time, Liang Ji was already extremely arrogant, he "entered the dynasty without tendency, walked the sword to the temple, and praised him," (familiar?) Wang Mang in the past, Dong Zhuo and Cao Cao in the future), were domineering to the extreme, often killing ministers wantonly because of a trivial matter, and hundreds of court officials died under him.
Liang Ji was domineering, and hundreds of officials did not dare to look at it directly. Emperor Huan's power was sidelined, and he was naturally dissatisfied.
As the saying goes, "good and evil will be rewarded in the end", and Liang Ji finally ushered in this day. In 158 AD, a solar eclipse occurred in the sky, and Tai Shi ordered Chen Zhi to write to Emperor Huan, believing that the solar eclipse occurred because Liang Ji had done too much evil, and Liang Ji beat Chen Ji to death after learning about it. Liang Ji's actions completely angered Liu Zhi, who had long been dissatisfied with Liang Ji.
In 159, Liu Zhi decided to get rid of Liang Ji, and during the reign, he excused himself to go to the toilet and let his henchman Tang Heng serve him. After entering the toilet, Liu Zhi asked Tang Heng in a low voice: "Do you know who among the people around us is at odds with Liang Ji?" Tang Heng replied to Liu Zhi: "Zhongchang's attendants Shan Chao, Xu Huang, Gu Yu, and Zuo Yi are all very dissatisfied with Liang Ji in private. Liu Zhi then sent five eunuchs to the secret room, and six of them fought as an alliance and decided to kill Liang Ji.
Emperor Huan of Han made an alliance with the five eunuchs
Liang Ji has been arrogant for a long time, and he can't imagine that anyone dares to make a move on him. Liu Zhi's plan went very smoothly, and five eunuchs summoned Zhang Biao, the commander of the division in Liu Zhi's name, and dispatched an army under the command of Shan Chao to besiege Liang Ji's general mansion on charges of treason. Although Liang Ji had power over the world, he offended too many people, and Shan Chao and others wanted to eliminate him in the name of the emperor, and many people immediately fell to the emperor's side. As a result, Shan Chao quickly took Liang's mansion and entered the palace to seize the general Yinxin. Seeing that the general trend was gone, Liang Ji knew that he had done too much evil, and once he was caught, he would not end well, so he simply pulled his wife to commit suicide together.
Liu Zhi and others then took advantage of the victory to pursue, and dozens of people from the Liang family were sentenced to death and rioted on the streets. After the sale of Liang Ji's family property, he collected a total of more than 3 billion yuan, which is equivalent to half a year's tax income in the country. All the officials attached to Liang Ji were arrested, nearly 40 officials with more than 2,000 stone were executed, more than 300 were deposed, and finally only 3 officials remained in the entire imperial court, and the imperial officials were almost empty. The Liang Foreign Qi Group was wiped out and wiped out. The people are not rejoicing.
Judging from the fact that Liu Zhi killed Liang Ji, Liu Zhi is still capable, and if he can cheer up from this, he still has the opportunity to become a generation of Ming Jun, but unfortunately, he has been suppressed by Liang Ji for too long, and at this time, once liberated, he thought of just how to enjoy the life of the emperor.
When Liang Ji was finished, Liu Zhi rewarded him for his merits and made all five eunuchs, Shan Chao, Zuo Qian, Xu Huang, Gu Yu, and Tang Heng, who had allied with him as marquises, and Shan Chao said to Liu Zhi: "Killing Liang Ji, Xiaohuangmen Liu Pu, Zhao Zhong, etc. also have merit and should be rewarded." Liu Zhi was very generous, and made Liu Pu and 8 other eunuchs marquis. From the fall of Qi, eunuchs appeared, and the Eastern Han Dynasty entered the era of eunuch dictatorship.
Eunuch Five Marquis
Because in the process of killing Liang Ji, the eunuch group headed by Shan Chao contributed the most, Liu Zhi was extremely conniving at the eunuch group. And the favored eunuchs are pampered and arrogant, they are cruel and domineering, and they prey on the people. Zhongchang's squire was greedy and extravagant, and forcibly seized 118 hectares of people's land and 318 residences, and imitated the imperial palace to build large-scale residential areas in 16 districts, all with pavilions, ponds, and gardens. Not only that, but the eunuch clique also gradually began to meddle in the politics of the dynasty.
The arrogance of the eunuch clique aroused the dissatisfaction of the courtiers, and in 166 AD, Nanyang Taishou Chengyao arrested Zhang Wan, a wealthy local merchant who had committed evil, and only to encounter Liu Zhi's announcement of amnesty. Because Zhang Xiao had an excellent relationship with Shan Chao and others, in order to fight the eunuchs, Cheng Yu not only killed Zhang Xiao himself, but also killed Zhang's clan and more than 200 guests.
After Cheng Yu killed Zhang Wan, such things happened all over the country. Feeling threatened, the eunuch clique complained to Liu Zhi that local officials were openly defiant of the central government. When Liu Zhi heard this, he was furious, and immediately issued an edict to behead Cheng Yu and the others.
At the same time, Li Yi, a lieutenant who was ranked at the head of the "Eight Jun" of famous men at that time, showed no mercy to the members of the eunuch group who violated the law because of his strict law enforcement, which aroused the jealousy of the eunuch clique. The eunuch clique falsely accused Li Yi and others of forming a party, slandering the imperial court, and corrupting customs. Liu Zhi was furious, so he ordered the whole country to arrest more than 200 famous people in the government and the public, including Li Yi and Chen Yin, causing the famous "disaster of the party". In 169 AD, after Liu Zhi's death, the even more mediocre Hanling Emperor Liu Hong ascended the throne, triggering the second round of "party calamity", Li Yi was not lucky this time, he was tortured to death, his wife and children were exiled to the border, and his protégés, former officials, and their fathers and brothers were imprisoned and not allowed to be officials. The anti-eunuch struggle suffered a serious setback.
While conniving at the eunuch group, Liu Zhi began to expand the harem on a large scale, adding more than 6,000 palace maids at one time (Liu Zhi seems to be in good health). There are so many beautiful women, Liu Zhi alone can't be spoiled. So solo music is not as good as everyone's happiness, he gathered thousands of palace women, all stripped naked, and made a collective movement with all the ministers (so that the dynasty does not perish).
Empress Deng Mengnu (originally Liang Mengnu, changed her surname to Deng after Liang Ji's death) really couldn't look past it, and put forward a persuasion, Liu Zhi abolished Deng Mengnu's empress and beat Deng Mengnu into the cold palace, and the disappointed Deng Mengnu ended up depressed. After Deng Mengnu was deposed, Liu Zhi soon installed a new empress, Dou Miao, the daughter of Dou Wu, the captain of the city gate.
The ruling class headed by Liu Zhi spent days and days drinking and was extremely extravagant, causing the national treasury to dry up. In order to maintain his rotten and rotten luxury life, Liu Zhi began to levy more taxes on the people and reduce official salaries, which caused the people to be angry and resentful. It left a huge hidden danger for the Eastern Han court.
The Tang dynasty poet Zhou Shu wrote the poem "Emperor Huan of the Later Han Gate", which severely criticized Liu Zhi.
"Hou Hanmen Huan Di"
Don Zhou Tan
Can be afraid to kill the king of Liang,
Ning Bianrong withered Duan Zhang.
Xiangkai is loyal to who bewitches,
The Ninja Sect has caused misfortune.
Fortunately, in 168 AD, Liu Zhi, who had been desolate for half his life, died at the age of 34 and could not continue to plague the people.
The short story of Emperor Huan of Han, who killed Liang Ji
One day in 159, Liu Zhi secretly summoned five eunuchs who were dissatisfied with Liang Ji by Shan Chao, Tang Heng, Xu Huang, Gu Wei, and Zuo Yi, and six of them fought as an alliance and conspired to destroy Liang.
On August Ding Ugly Day, Emperor Huan ascended the palace and summoned Shangshu Yin Xun, announcing that he would punish Liang Ji and ordering Yin Xun to guard the palace and not allow anyone to go out in case the news leaked. In the name of Emperor Liu Zhi, the Wuchang attendants summoned Zhang Biao, the commander of the division, and mobilized more than 1,000 Lin troops to surround Liang Mansion with Gu Yu on charges of treason. Yuan Yu led troops to collect Liang Ji's general Yin Shu and demoted Liang Ji to the Marquis of Jingdu.
Although Liang Ji had power over the world, he offended too many people, and the emperor moved to clean him up, and no one helped him at all. Liang Ji also knew that the end was unpredictable, and simply committed suicide with his wife on the spot. Dozens of Liang Ji's relatives were executed. Nearly 40 officials with more than 2,000 stones were executed and more than 300 were dismissed, and the Liang clique of foreign relatives was wiped out, and the people were unhappy.
