On the morning of September 14, the 28th Beijing International Book Fair (Chinese referred to as "Tu Expo" and "BIBF" in English) was officially opened, and Pakistan served as the guest of honor of the book fair. This year's exhibition was held in the form of offline exhibition, online platform support, and online and offline combination, becoming the first important large-scale international book fair to combine online and offline exhibitions under the global epidemic. The 19th Beijing International Book Festival also opened at the same time.
The scale of participation in this year's Tibet Expo has been further expanded, with a total of about 2,200 exhibitors from 105 countries and regions registering for the exhibition, and 300,000 kinds of books will be exhibited. According to reports, offline entities participated in about 1600 exhibitions, accounting for 71%. Overseas exhibitors accounted for two-thirds of the total number of exhibitors, including 13 of the top 50 international publishers, 57 countries and regions along the "Belt and Road", and eight new countries, including Algeria, Laos, Palestine, Angola, Jamaica, Nigeria, Denmark and Finland.

During the book fair, a number of online and offline and professional public events will be held. So, from now until the end of the Tibet Expo on September 18, what activities are worth looking forward to?
In addition to the Beijing Publishing Summit, which has already been held on September 12, the 15th China Book Special Contribution Award Ceremony will be held offline and online recording, recognizing 6 writers, 6 translators and 3 publishers from 14 countries. The first Publishing Integration Development Internationalization Forum will be held at the book fair site on September 15, starting with the path, problems and cases of different digital products such as e-books and online texts to discuss the internationalization of integrated publishing. On the same day, the BIBF World Children's Book Forum will also be held, with the theme of "Structural Adjustment and Publishing Innovation of the Children's Book Market".

On September 16th, the 5G New Publishing and New Reading Exchange Conference held in the BIBF Wisdom Zhongtu Exhibition Area of the New National Exhibition will focus on the new development of publishing with the theme of "5G Empowering Publishing and Publishing Enriching 5G". The High-level Dialogue Forum between Chinese Librarians and International Publishing Houses will focus on the international academic trend and development laws in the new era, scientifically analyze the opportunities and challenges faced by libraries and publishing houses, discuss the latest research progress, look forward to the future development path, and promote the harmonious and healthy development of China's publishing and library industry. On the afternoon of the same day, the second China-ASEAN Children's Publishing and Reading Forum will also be held, and the participants will discuss the future cooperation strategies of the children's publishing industry between China and ASEAN countries and South Asian countries.
The 2021 "BIBF Dialogue" high-end think tank dialogue, the 2021 "Beijing Writers Day" brand activities and other "Publishing +" series of activities will explore in depth the various possibilities of the publishing industry in the future. Among them, the opening ceremony of the 2021 "Beijing Writers Day" and the release of the results of the first phase of the Beijing Municipal Federation of Literary works translation project books and the signing ceremony of the second phase of the project have been successfully held online and offline on September 11. At the opening ceremony, writers Liu Qingbang and Qiu Huadong, as well as Jilai of Turkey, Xu Tianyou of Italy, You Hai of Romania, Lei Sicheng of the United States, Anton Hedge of France, Lisa of Russia, and Furong of Tunisia carried out projects around the first and second phases of the project, sharing their feelings of participating in the project.
The results of the first phase were the first to release the Turkish version of Lao She's "Cat City", the Spanish version of Liu Heng's "Food on Dog Day", the romanian version of Liu Qingbang's "Wheat" and the English version of "Beijing Literature" (the first series). The Arabic version of Lao She's "My Life", the French version of Qiu Huadong's "Beijing Biography", the French version of Ye Guangqian's "Flower Cat Three Ladies on the House", the Polish version of Zhou Daxin's "Los Angeles Flowers", the Arabic version of Xu Zechen's "Beijing Western Suburbs Story Collection", the Russian version of Xidu's "Xidu Poetry Collection", and the Italian version of Qiao Ye's "Her" were also signed on the same day.

Five national night live broadcast activities have been held at the end of August, Yu Zhongxian, Xu Zechen, Li Zero, Liu Zhenyun and other writers and scholars, freely talk about the literary characteristics of various countries, share cultural interesting stories from all over the world. Next, the "BIBF World Reading Season" will also usher in a number of reading events such as Polish Night, Children's Book Night, poetry night and so on.
