ChatGPT: All about AI chatbots

OpenAI's text-generating AI chatbot ChatGPT has become a high-profile tool worldwide. ChatGPT can write articles, code, etc. based on short text prompts, providing users with a huge productivity boost. However, ChatGPT also has its less positive side.

AI tools have become indispensable, and major brands are experimenting, such as using AI to generate advertising and marketing copy. OpenAI is also investing heavily in this area, and recently launched an upgraded version of ChatGPT, the GPT-4 language writing model. Paying users can access GPT-4, which provides users with a more natural and smooth writing experience. In addition to GPT-4, OpenAI connects ChatGPT to the internet and offers alpha plugins to users and developers on the waiting list.

In any case, the emergence of ChatGPT has led the development of AI technology, making us expect more innovation and applications.

Below is a timeline of recent ChatGPT product updates and releases (starting with the latest). We've also answered some frequently asked questions (see below).

More than 1,100 signatories signed an open letter demanding that all "AI labs be suspended for 6 months immediately."

The signatories of the letter include Elon Musk, Steve Wozniak and Tristan Harris of the Center for Humanitarian Technology, among others. The letter calls for "an immediate moratorium on training AI systems more powerful than GPT-4 for at least 6 months." ”

The letter reads:

Contemporary AI systems are becoming more and more competitive for universal tasks, and we must ask ourselves: Should we allow machines to flood our information channels with propaganda and untrue information? Should we automate the elimination of all work, including satisfactory work? Should we develop non-human minds that may eventually be numerous, intelligent, obsolete and replace us? Are we risking losing control of civilization? Such decisions should not be delegated to unelected tech leaders. Robust AI systems should only be developed when they are confident that their effects will be positive and the risks manageable.
