More than 80 years ago, the War of Resistance Against Japan was in full swing. In the early winter of 1940, the soldiers of our Eighth Route Army and the Japanese puppet army fought a fierce battle in Beitai Village, Rongcheng County, Xiong'an. History is known as the Battle of the Northern Backstage Village.
In this battle, the soldiers of our Eighth Route Army launched a battle against the invaders. The soldiers of the Eighth Route Army killed more than 200 Japanese puppet troops with only millet and rifles. It must be known that the Japanese puppet army at that time was not only well-armed, but also had sufficient ammunition. And the number is five to six times that of our Eighth Route Army. The Eighth Route Army, on the other hand, not only had inferior weapons but also lacked ammunition.
The intensity of the battle at that time can also be imagined. The soldiers of our Eighth Route Army were not afraid of sacrifice and fought heroically, and after several surprise attacks, they were finally outnumbered and only 156 people rushed out. The other 497 soldiers died heroically. Not a single soldier gave in and surrendered. Compose a heroic and unyielding chapter of anti-Japanese resistance. According to local folklore, the gunfire of the battle that day was denser than the sound of firecrackers for the New Year. The soldiers of the Eighth Route Army fought bravely to be the first and rush forward. Blood stained the earth red. Think of the brutality of that battle!
