IT House News on April 3, CD Projekt Red, the developer of the "The Witcher" series and "Cyberpunk 2077", announced its fiscal year 2022 financial report, with revenue of about $222 million in 2022 (IT House Note: the current is about 1.527 billion yuan), an increase from $207 million in fiscal 2021.

In addition, CDPR's net profit in 2022 was approximately US$80 million (currently approximately RMB550 million), a year-on-year increase of 66%.

The report shows that Cyberpunk 2077's 2022 sales revenue increased by 18% year-over-year. Typically, game sales revenue declines year over year, but the resurgence of Cyberpunk 2077 sales helped the company have the second-best year on record in terms of sales revenue.

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most controversial games in gaming to date, with so many issues at launch that it was removed from the PlayStation Store shortly after launch. CD Projekt issued refunds to players and received fierce criticism. But with the explosion of the anime adaptation "Cyberpunk: Edge Walker" and the continuous optimization of the game itself, sales and word of mouth have now rebounded.

CDPR is currently planning a slew of new games, including a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, codenamed Orion, which is expected to offer online multiplayer features, as well as a remake of the original The Witcher game with Unreal Engine 5, and a new The Witcher trilogy in production.

Cyberpunk 2077's first story expansion, Shadows of the Past, will be available in 2023, and according to CDPR's official update, the company will begin sharing news of the new expansion in June.
