Inspired by Vacheron Constantin retrograde models from the 1920s and 1930s, the new Patrimony retrograde day date salmon dial features a beautiful 42.5 mm diameter platinum case. The salmon-coloured dial is decorated with a rising sun, and below the 12 o'clock hour markers is a faceted Maltese cross relief, crafted from 18K 5N rose gold with sandblasted and polished facets. Two retrograde indicators – day of the day and date – are indicated by blued steel hands, while hours and minutes are indicated by 18K white gold hands.
In the classic style of the 1950s, the inlaid 18K white gold hour markers feature a subtle curved design that complements the shape of the domed dial. The rounded outer minute track is also inspired by this era, reinterpreted. Since the 1940s, Vacheron Constantin watches have featured salmon-colored dials that perfectly match the white metal case: especially the steel case, especially the legendary chronograph Reference 4178; and platinum, with which it forms a rare combination that is sought after by collectors and lovers of rare models.
The combination of a platinum case with a salmon-colored dial was picked up in the 1990s, again combined with complications such as the classic chronograph Reference 47101 and the 1992 self-winding perpetual calendar chronograph 49005.
The Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Retrograde Day-Date Salmon dial features the 2460 R31R7/3 self-winding calibre with a 22K gold skeletonized oscillating weight and a 40-hour power reserve. The movement is fully visible through the back of the display case.
The watch features a dark blue alligator leather strap with tonal stitching and a platinum pin clasp. This new model is only available in the Vacheron Constantin boutique.
