In just over a month, this year's LEGO Star Wars Day event will begin, and the traditional LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collection will be launched. Based on current rumors, this year's LEGO Star Wars UCS set will be the 75355 X-wing Starfighter, and we've put together important information about the set ahead of time.
I didn't expect a new version of the X-wing starfighter to appear this year, and I thought that the new UCS suit would be the B-wing or AT-ST, both of which are meaningful for the 40th anniversary of the return of the Jedi. Now, however, all the news is undoubtedly pointing this year's UCS package to the new X-wing fighter.
Rumor has it that we'll get a new X-wing Starfighter built from 1949 pieces in the Ultimate Collector collection, and there's certainly a big reason for that, with one of the early leaked images of a minifigure circulating, including a Luke Skywalker figure wearing an orange pilot.
This minifigure has black hands, black boots and printed arms, and for the first time printed double-mold legs. Luke in this suit should be the most elaborate minifigure ever printed in a pilot outfit, and this minifigure photo is believed to have been stolen from the factory.
The fact that the new UCS suit will be an X-wing starfighter is not particularly creative in itself, and it will be another reissue of the ultimate collector's series since the 2019 UCS set X-wing starfighter, with a 7191 X-wing in July 2000.
There is not much additional information about the LEGO Star Wars 75355 X-wing Starfighter. Based on the minifigures included, it can be assumed that this is Luke Skywalker's Red Five X-wing Starfighter, and contains at least one Luke Skywalker minifigure, and possibly an R2-D2 minifigure is included.
This LEGO Star Wars 75355 X-wing starfighter consists of 1949 parts and will initially be sold exclusively at LEGO for a suggested retail price of €239.99, a common price for "small" UCS sets today.
The start of sales may be postponed to May 1, 2023. The dimensions of the X-Wing should be the same as those of the previous two UCS versions, the X-Wing 10240 and 7191, depending on the number of parts, one with 1559 parts and one with 1300 parts. The many parts in the 75355 should be mainly reflected in the more detailed appearance of the Starfighter.
