01Scenic area details
Overview of the scenic spot
The Nanshiyang Grand Canyon Scenic Area, developed and constructed with Nanshiyanggou as the main body, is located on the border of Beijing's West Mountain, the bank of the Yongding River and the foot of the Great Wall, with a total length of more than 20 kilometers and a total scenic area of about 40 square kilometers. The scenic area is divided into "one gorge and nine valleys, eighteen bays, seventy-two nodes", nine valleys are one, and the scenery is peculiar. In 2018, Nanyanggou was approved as Beijing Forest Park, with a forest coverage rate of 91.3% and a negative ion content of more than 50,000 per cubic centimeter, which is a veritable natural oxygen bar.
Natural
Nanshiyang Grand Canyon Tourist Area is full of mountain flowers in spring, vibrant in summer, colorful in autumn, and covered in silver in winter. The nighttime temperature in the valley is higher than that outside the valley, the temperature difference between day and night is small, and the water evaporation is relatively slow, which is conducive to plant growth. Along the valley, there are many precious trees such as birch forest and larch. Party ginseng, He Shou Wu, and other precious medicinal materials can be seen everywhere. The valley is home to a variety of precious animals such as brown horse chickens, leopards, wild boars, and golden-eyed eagles. Walking in the valley, the scenery is all over, and a casual shot is an excellent masterpiece, as if you are in a picture scroll given by nature, handsome and strange, making people linger.
Cultural connotations
Nanshiyang Grand Canyon has a deep cultural heritage, once the location of ancient Youzhou, Empress Dowager Xiao and Yelu Yanshou Nu have left legends here. Standing on the highest peak of the scenic area, you can also see the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty, cool breeze blowing on the face, close your eyes to feel the smoke of the war of the year, it seems to hear the golden iron horse, war drums, and now there are still old site dressing buildings, Niangniang temples, Huanggu caves, grave terraces and other ruins considerable. In addition, the sweat of the heroic resistance of the red ancestors was also left here. During the Anti-Japanese War, it was the rear base of the Eighth Route Army and the Anti-Japanese Government. Under the leadership of the Party, the residents near the Nanshiyang Gorge made great contributions to the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, so it was known as the "fortress of the War of Resistance". The spirit and culture of red are still passed on in this land.
