Compared with the second-generation station, NIO's third-generation station has significantly improved its power exchange service capacity, of which the number of battery positions has increased to 21, and the number of daily services can reach 408 times, which is 30% higher than that of the second-generation station. At the same time, the station adopts a three-station collaborative operation mechanism to minimize the battery flow path and shorten the power exchange time by 20%. NIO's third-generation station has 50% more battery charging power and is compatible with 800-volt electrical architectures.

In addition, it is understood that the third-generation station of NIO will be equipped with 2 lidar and 2 NVIDIA Orin X chips, with a single station computing power of 508TOPS, making it possible to summon vehicles and automatically change power.
In terms of intelligence, NIO's third-generation station also adopts NIO's self-developed HPC bidirectional high-power liquid-cooled power supply module. The maximum efficiency of the module is 98%, and the charging and discharging power is 62.5 kW, which can greatly improve the charging and discharging efficiency of the battery in the exchange station, which is more energy-saving and environmentally friendly.
It is worth mentioning that NIO released a 500-kilowatt ultra-fast charging charging pile at NIO Day2022, and the emperor also saw the entity at the recent trial operation experience site of NIO's third-generation station.

NIO's 500 kW ultra-fast charge has a peak current of 660 amps and is equipped with an ultra-light liquid-cooled gun wire with a wide voltage platform from 200 to 1000 volts, which can be held with one hand. In terms of intelligent interaction, the charging pile supports NFC payment, plug and charge and other functions. In addition, the charging pile NIO also plans to land in its overseas markets.

NIO plans to add 1,000 new swap stations this year, and will build more than 2,300 swap stations by the end of the year. Among them, about 600 new substations will be added in the city this year, and about 400 new substations will be added to the highway swap network.
As of March 15, 2023, NIO has deployed 1,322 swap stations across the country, including 351 highway swap stations, 2,388 charging stations, 14,074 charging piles, and access to more than 660,000 third-party charging piles.
