Once obsessed with the performance of Gende S700, saw a large number of review articles, once prepared thousands of yuan ready to buy, but once thought clearly, this radio has been hyped, the cost performance is extremely low, why buy the past foreign garbage? Gende S700 is indeed good performance when it first came out, but over time, more than 20 years, 30 years of radio performance will decline, if for the ideal hobby in the heart, then it is recommended that you buy a new one, after all, the new product enjoys a warranty, and the problem manufacturer will solve it.

I found the shadow of S700 on the PL990, that is, three embedded shuttles, this design looks, than PL660, three shuttles exposed, much more coordinated, appearance PL660 (8 points) < PL990 (9 points).

Old transistor radio lovers like to listen to medium waves, so the band I use more is medium wave, and you don't need any external equipment, a radio, you can play. Comparing and testing the PL660 and PL990 medium wave performance, I used the test point is 1530 kilohertz, the weak table above this frequency, I heard the intelligibility of the strong table for the first time in PL660, the medium wave performance is definitely PL660 (10 points) > PL990 (8 points).
Then the indoor and external Youloop antenna, two radios receive the sound of West Lake 105.4 MHz, then the advantages of PL990 are reflected, can vaguely hear the voice, subjectively have a certain degree of intelligibility, but PL660 is a little worse in this aspect, may also be related to PL660 does not have DSP. FM PL660 (6 points) < PL990 (7 points).
SW I directly use two machines external youloop antenna to receive the Chinese timing station 5 megahertz and 10 megahertz frequency, the two radios receive performance is almost the same, I subjectively can not distinguish the advantages and disadvantages of the two radios, so shortwave PL660 (6 points) = PL990 (6 points).
Then I used two radios to receive SSB, found a single-sideband radio 14270 MHz, USB on the sideband, both machines are a little difficult to listen to, but subjectively, PL990's intelligibility is a little better, so SSB single-sideband PL660 (3 points) < PL990 (4 points).
The overall score of PL660 is 33 points and PL990 is 34 points, so the cost performance PL660 is higher than that of PL990, and the performance of the two J machines is almost indistinguishable.

In addition, the Youloop antenna is really a treasure, received indoors, almost achieved outdoor effects, although it is a passive antenna, but the effect is better than some active antennas, and amplifiers can be configured. My own self-made copper ring large antenna, access to PL660 and PL990 is simply a disaster, amplifying the interference.
