The Hawks cut Okafor

The Hawks announced today that they have cut center Jalil Okafor.

Okafor, 25, was a member of the Pistons last season and was sent to the Nets in a trade with Jordan Jr. in the offseason before being cut. After regaining his freedom, he signed a $2.1 million one-year non-guaranteed contract with the Eagles.

In preseason games to date, Okafor has played a total of 28 minutes for the Hawks, with 6 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

At the Pistons last season, Okafor made a total of 27 playing opportunities, averaging 5.4 points and 2.4 rebounds in less than 13 minutes per game.
