But the Cantonese pop songs of the two schools are very different! As for Li Xiaotian, he was indeed closer to Gu Jiaxuan's faction, but he was not as foreign as Brother Xuan.
In the song "Where to Find Penglai", Xu Guanjie used the simplest AABA method to write a work with a little Chinese minor element buried, but the style of the presentation was somewhat similar to the 70s love song of the Band Ofread (Bread), so it felt modern at the time, and the melodic lines were simple, natural, comfortable and elegant. It's hard to say why the song sounds so good, because structurally, it's pretty mediocre! The complexity cannot be compared with Rowan's "Family Change", but it comes out of Asam's mouth and is intimately pasted.

"The World is Like Chess" is the next episode of "Where to Find Penglai", basically everything is the same as before, but this time, Xu Guanjie used traditional Chinese instruments, and the melody was more obviously to the Chinese minor key. But his singing method still retains his general, modern, casual style. At this time, Asam's position in the music world was as stable as Tarzan, but it immediately rose to the storm!
In fact, in Xu Guanjie's song list, in addition to "The World Is Like Chess", there are several works that have the shadow of "Where to Find Penglai", but this is normal, and any creator will accidentally copy his own. But those works before and after are not as good as "Where to Find Penglai", except for this "World Is Like Chess" song style retro, so it feels special. Although I say that "The World is Like Chess" is the next episode of "Where to Find Penglai", its melody ups and downs are bigger than "Where to Find Penglai"; it is more like a song Chinese minor style by Xu Guanjie challenging Gu Jiaxuan, but the lyrics are clear:
