Years ago, a video of a baby elephant sliding a slide on a jungle mud went viral. The protagonist of the video, "Sheep Girl", is an Asian elephant living in the Asian Elephant Breeding and Rescue Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Rescue Center") in Yunnan, China.

On the evening of August 17, 2015, the rescue center received a message for help, and a villager in the Baka Group of Olive Dam Village, Simaogang Town, Pu'er City, found a baby elephant that had just been born. At 6 a.m. the next day, Chen Jiming and other rescuers set off from the rescue center and drove to the scene more than 100 kilometers away to carry out rescue.
"The elephant doctors performed some simple tests at the scene, the baby elephants suffered from sepsis, and there was also a very serious umbilical cord infection in newborns." Recalling the scene of seeing "Yang Yan" for the first time, Chen Jiming's memory is still clear. After a simple treatment at the scene, the "sheep girl" was taken back to the rescue center for rehabilitation. "The road back to the rescue center is 100 kilometers, and it went into shock three times on the way."
After returning to the rescue center, Chen Jiming and 3 other "elephant fathers" were responsible for taking care of the diet and living of the "sheep girls". After expert demonstration, the composition of goat's milk and elephant milk is relatively close, so the rescue center found 3 lactating black goats. The baby elephant was born in the Year of the Goat and grew up drinking goat's milk, so the "elephant fathers" named it "Sheep Girl", hoping that it would grow up healthily.
Although the days of taking care of "Yang Niu" at the beginning were very hard, for Chen Jiming, he also left a lot of interesting memories. "When he was a child, like a child, he was hungry in the early morning to drink milk, he would scratch your face with his nose, and no matter how sleepy he was, we could only get up and milk it."

On July 7, 2005, villagers found a baby elephant about 3 years old being caught in the river under the Big Tree Hotel in the Wild Elephant Valley Scenic Area, and the wound was seriously infected and festering, endangering life. On July 8, the forestry and grassland department, the nature reserve management bureau and the forest public security jointly discussed the rescue plan, and on the 9th, the rescue team of 81 people successfully captured the baby elephant and escorted it to the rescue center. The baby elephant's later name was "Ranran".
In August of that year, Xiong Chaoyong, who had five years of experience in elephant care and breeding, took the initiative to take care of Ranran.

At that time, "Ranran" would only eat corn, and in a hurry, Xiong Chaoyong rode a bicycle to the farmer's market to buy cornmeal, apples, bananas and other foods, but when he bought it back, "Ranran" still did not eat anything. Xiong Chaoyong ate a few bites, and then threw an apple to "Ranran", and after 4 days of persistence, "Ranran" was finally willing to roll up the apple with his nose, put it in his mouth and take a bite to taste the taste.
In August and September, xishuangbanna has a lot of rain, and there will often be lightning and thunder. Whenever this happened, "Ranran" would think of her mother out of fear and start yelling incessantly. Xiong Chaoyong moved the bed to the side of "Ranran" and took care of "Ranran" for 24 hours.
Later, as long as "Ranran" was called, Xiong Chaoyong knew that "Ranran" missed his mother, and hurried to the side to touch Ranran's forehead, hold its nose, and talk to it. In this way, Xiong Chaoyong and "Ranran" had feelings, and "Ranran" gradually cooperated with the treatment, and his body got better day by day.
