author:The layman says basketball

According to Legion Hoops through Shams sources, the Blazers tend to leave Lillard on rest for the rest of the season as the team is carefully handling Lillard's calf injury, followed by Legion Hoops asking, what do you think about the future of Lillard and the Blazers? The Blazers are currently ranked thirteenth in the West and are still some way from the playoffs, and if the Blazers really give up this season, it means that their so-called reinforcements in the offseason have also failed, let's see what fans say about this!

For what? To make sure he’s ready for the same thing next year? Lol

Why? To make sure he's ready to tackle the same thing again next season? Ha ha

2022-2023 is officially the lost season of Dame Lillard.

2022-2023 has officially become Lillard's lost season.

It seems like from the team perspective dame has ran its course and they’ve been the same with him but we all know dame never going to leave

From the team's perspective, it seems that Lillard has reached the limit. But we all know that Lillard will never leave.

Dame needs to understand that nobody will judge him if he asks out. Portland has done an atrocious job building a team around him and he deserves to be playing on a winning team.

Lillard needs to understand that no one will blame him if he asks to leave. The Blazers built a bad team around him, and he deserves to play on a team that can win.

ORRRRRR you could’ve just traded him at the deadline but I guess yall wanna be stuck being a borderline playoff team and a first round exit. I respect the loyalty but I ain’t gonna stay somewhere where im not winning.

Or, you guys could have traded him on the trade deadline, but I guess you've been on the fringes of the playoffs and then a round. I respect loyalty, but I'm not going to stay in a place where I can't win.

Dame do yourself a favor and join a contender, you did all you could in Portland.

Lillard, for your sake, join a promising team, you've done your best with the Blazers.

if they wanna do right by him they will trade him but there’s also no reason for him to have not requested a trade by now …

If they wanted to do the right thing to him, they would trade him, but Lillard has not yet made a request for a trade...

This team is supposed to be a good team. We can't let these guys keep getting away from criticism

This team was supposed to be a good team. We can't let these people keep running away from criticism.

If he’s injured they should’ve been shut him down

If he is injured, then he should rest.

How can he just quit on the season with no pushback?

How could he give up the season without any opposition?

Lol dame gone look back one day and be like damn I really wasted my time trying to be loyal

Haha, Lillard would look back at himself and say: I really wasted my time thinking about one person and one city.

What is the vision for the future of Lillard and the Blazers?

He’s going to be traded. I think he’ll finally ask to be shipped out.

He will be traded. I think he will eventually ask to be traded.

He deserves to be on another team even if he doesn't realize it. I want him on my Knicks but with Brunson already here it would be a defensive liability. Plus we'd probably had to give up good defenders like Quickley, Grimes, and Robinson for him.

Although he didn't realize it, he could make a difference on another team. I hope he comes to us at the Knicks, but now that Brunson is already here, it could become a defensive issue. Plus, we may have to sacrifice great defensive players like Quickley, Quentin Grimes and Mitchell Robinson in exchange for him.

Knicks would be good for Dame too. Knicks better bring their A game if they would trade for Dame. but im starting to doubt Dame if he can really handle the heat playing for a big market team like the Knicks.

The Knicks are also a good choice for Lillard. If they're going to trade Lillard, the Knicks had better give their best lineup. But I'm starting to wonder if Lillard can withstand the pressure of playing in a team with a market as big as the Knicks.

If it were up to him he would stay forever. But I think the Trail Blazers need to do what’s best for the future of the franchise and trade him before he starts deteriorating

If it's up to him, he will stay forever. But I think the Blazers need to make the best decisions for the future of the team and trade him before he starts to decline.

Terrific player, but the martyrdom is getting old. The trade he'll eventually ask for has been long coming. But he's built up an impressive wall of deflection these last few years, so he'll be lauded as a guy who "deserved" better.

This player is excellent, but his dedication is already tiring. He will eventually ask for a deal, which is imminent. But over the years, he has practiced "one person, one city", so he will be hailed as a person who "deserves" to be treated better.

They need to do him and themselves a favor. Either trade him or trade some of their young talent for a bonfire star. This off-season should present some options. The playoffs will have some teams rethinking their strategies.

If you can get a haul for the 33-yr-old making $60m/year for the next 4 seasons: do it.

Anfernee Simons, Shaedon Sharpe, Cam Reddish, a top 10 draft pick this season, and whatever king's ransom you get for Dame = a really good start to a rebuild.

If you can trade back a whole bunch of stuff for the 33-year-old player who makes $60 million a year for the next four seasons, do it. Anferny Simmons, Sheyden Sharp, Cam Reddish, the top 10 pick of the season and Lillard = the start of a very good rebuild.

Very true. It just sucks they could never get it together around dame but I really want to see dame with a good team and situation he needs to go on a deep run I'd love to see him get a championship before he's done somewhere I want to see clutch time nba finals dame unlocked

Quite right. It's just a pity that they can never rally around Lillard, but I really want to see Lillard on a good team, he needs to play deep for a while, I would love to see him win a championship somewhere, I want to see Lillard in the middle of the NBA Finals.

I think the Blazers should make the decision for Dame by trading him. You can’t give him what he wants so let him go. I thought Chauncey would change how they play but nope they’re still undisciplined and play zero defense… that’s why they lose

I think the Blazers should make a decision for Lillard through a trade. You can't give him what he wants, so let him go. I think Chauncey will change their style of play, but they still have no discipline, no defense... That's why they lost.

If I was the Blazers, our part ways Damian Lillard, and start fresh get a bunch of first round draft, picks and try to get them to gel together no one’s coming

If I were the Blazers, I'd break up with Lillard, start over, get a bunch of picks, and try to get them some chemistry. No one will come.

It works out well for the both of them. He gets to get paid a bunch without any pressure. The Blazers get to keep a big name in a small market. If Dame does not want better than his current situation why do we keep wanting it for him.

It's good for both of them. He can get paid a lot without any pressure. Trailblazers can keep a superstar in the small market. If Lillard doesn't want to go to a better team, then why do we want him to go?

Dame prefers to be in a situation where he’s comfortable with little to no expectations while maximizing his earning potential…

I have no issues with this.. neither should anyone else

Lillard prefers to be in a comfortable environment without excessive expectations while maximizing his own benefits.

I don't have any problem with that, and neither should anyone else.

Hmmm. I see a john stockton career. Staying with the team until retiring.

Well, I think he's going to have a career like John Stockton, staying on the team until he retires.

With the Mavs draft pick being top 10 protected, can we still trade it again come draft night?

Before the playoffs, the Dallas Mavericks had a protected draft pick in the top 10, so can they be traded again on draft night?

Dame should go to a contender get himself a championship or two just like LeBron did and then come back to the trailblazers and help them get one or two

Lillard said he should be traded to a team competing for a championship, win a championship or two himself, as James did, and then go back to the Blazers to help them win one or two.

What is your vision for the future of Leigh Mentor and Trailblazer? Fans: He's done his best

Blazers need to trade him.. Dame has given everything. Right thing to do is trade him to a team who can compete for a ring. Kings, Pelicans, Clippers, PHX, Heat would be good fits

The Blazers need to trade him. Lillard has given everything. The right thing to do is trade him to a team that can compete for the title. The Kings, Pelicans, Clippers, Suns, and Heat are all good options.

Everyone already respects his loyalty. No one will blame him for asking to be traded. But if he still wants to stay with the blazers that’s his choice unless the team decides to move him

Blazers need to forcefully part with him. I love the guy but blazers front office is doing nothing to give him help. In the current climate of the league he's going to need more than the bum that is Nurkic and a bunch of young players.

The Blazers need to forcibly break up with him. I liked the guy, but the Blazers management didn't help him. In the current league environment, he needs more than just waste like Nurkic and a bunch of young players.

Who cares. He’s getting paid well enough with no pressure of winning there. So, what are we talking?

Who cares? His income is high enough to be pressured to win the game. So, what are we discussing?

He will be traded to a contender team this offseason. Suns, Philadelphia, Clippers or Heat.

He will be traded to a competitive team this season. The Suns, 76ers, Clippers or Heat are all good options.
