Zhuge Liang was an outstanding statesman and military strategist in Chinese history, known as "Mr. Wolong" by later generations.

But there were also two failures in his life, namely releasing a villain who should be killed, and killing a good general who should be released.
The first defeat occurred during Zhuge Liang's Northern Expedition. At that time, he met a villain named Deng Zhi, who had surrendered to Cao Cao and had repeatedly stirred up trouble within the Shu Han dynasty.
Although most people believed that he should be killed to avoid harm, Zhuge Liang relented, thinking that this person might still have use value. As a result, Deng Zhi did a lot of things to destroy the Shu Han army during the Northern Expedition, which led to the final defeat of the Shu Han.
The second failure was when dealing with the Jiang Wei problem. Jiang Wei was a highly talented and capable general, and Zhuge Liang treated him very seriously in the early days, but due to misunderstanding and dissatisfaction, Zhuge Liang demoted Jiang Wei to a commoner.
This would have been a great loss to Shu Han, because Jiang Wei could have made a greater contribution to Shu Han.
Despite these two failures, Zhuge Liang is still a famous politician and military strategist in Chinese history, and he has left a deep influence on the history of Chinese culture.
