30 years of time, those epic and slow unfolding past events, those "the most beautiful night scenes in Chinese movies", those unique atmospheres of Taiwan island in the 1960s, those Elvis presley swings and intoxicating songs, still make us unforgettable.
Today's article is an old manuscript written by Shi Jun for "Muling Street" 5 years ago, and will be published again 5 years later.
I just want to prove that these things, those people, still have people in their hearts.

The behind-the-scenes team of "Muling Street" at that time was not all elite celebrities gathered in the imagination, but a gathering under helplessness.
The basic cast of actors is the children of Yang Dechang's old friends and old friends, the students of Taipei University of the Arts, who he teaches, and the actors of Lai Shengchuan's acting workshop.
I never thought of such a gathering, and after many years, it spread out and spread throughout Taiwan's film, television, theater, advertising, publishing, music and cultural circles.
In the past 30 years, some people have become superstars, some people have become shooting stars, some people have stuck to movies, some people have silently changed careers, and some people have driven the crane to the west.
Time will remember that this group of people known as the "Muling Gang" once worked together to leave a masterpiece of eternal film history.

Yang Dechang (Director, Screenwriter, Producer)
Yang Dechang's film life takes "Muling Street" as a watershed. "Mulling Street" received ten nominations at the Golden Horse Awards, and finally won the most important best picture and best original screenplay awards.
But after the polishing of time, this film has become more and more classic and supreme in the centuries of Chinese.
After "Muling Street", Yang Dechang made three films, and 2000's "Yiyi" is another peak of Yang Dechang's work, although it is still the same calm and sharp and complex character relationship, but this time, Yang Dechang has obviously become peaceful.
"Yiyi" won the Best Director Award at the Cannes Film Festival, but it was not screened in Taiwan that year, and its status in the history of Chinese films is inseparable from that of "Mouling Street".
On June 29, 2007, Yang Dechang died of colon cancer in Los Angeles, USA, at the age of 59. The last film he was preparing, "Chasing the Wind", is a Chinese-style animation film like the Qingming River, which is now 9 minutes long.
Lai Shengchuan (Producer)
Lai Shengchuan has been called "the leader of Asian theater directors" and is also one of the bosses behind "Muling Street". In 1984, he set up an "Acting Workshop", in which some of the actors participated in the performance of "Muling Street".
At present, Lai Shengchuan is still active in the front line of the drama stage, directing works such as "Crush on Peach Blossom Garden" and "Dream like a Dream", which are still full and difficult to find a ticket.

"Muling Street" may be just one of Zhan Hongzhi's many brilliant strokes, he has extremely prominent achievements in publishing, newspaper, film, television, music and other industries, and is a big figure in the field of Chinese cultural creativity.
Before "Muling Street", Zhan Hongzhi had already pushed Hou Xiaoxian to the peak of his career with "City of Sorrows".
After "Muling Street", until the late 1990s, almost all the works of Yang Dechang and Hou Xiaoxian, Zhan Hongzhi was an important participant, and also became a connector between the two Taiwanese film masters.
In the mid-1990s, Zhan Hongzhi turned around and founded the City-State Cultural Business, which developed into the largest publishing group in Taiwan. After that he also worked on the IT industry and was very successful. In his old line of writers, he still works tirelessly and works continuously.
Jiang Fengqi (Producer)
In 1991, after Jiang Fengqi succeeded Ming Ji as the general manager of "Taiwan China Film", he took "Muling Street" as a bold breakthrough in reform, introduced foreign directors, and successfully won big-name directors such as Cai Mingming and Ang Lee.
Ang Lee's "Father Trilogy" to the international is produced by Jiang Fengqi.
During this period, Mesozoic directors such as Zhang Aijia, Chen Yuxun, Yi Zhiyan, and Chen Guofu rose up, leading the short-lived explosive hit of Taiwanese films in 1995.
After that, Xu Ligong took over as the general manager of "China Film", and Jiang Fengqi served as the general manager of Taiwan's "China Television Corporation" ("China Television") until his retirement.

Duan Zhongyi is one of the biggest guest actors in "Muling Street" and is an old friend of Yang Dechang, when he and Ono, Zhang Aijia, Yu Jieping planned Yang Dechang's first feature film "A Day on the Beach".
In 1980, he and his younger brother Duan Zhongtan founded Rolling Stone Records, which became the largest record label in Taiwan, and after Chinese the ups and downs of pop music, Rolling Stone still stands today, launching countless popular Chinese pop classics.
Some of the music used in Ridge Street was also copyrighted by Rolling Stone and UFO Records, another local music company at the time. Duan is also currently at the helm of Rolling Stone Records.
Tang Ruyun (as Master Xia)
Tang Ruyun is a veteran Actor from Taiwan who was nearly 70 years old when he filmed "Muling Street".
Earlier, she was Hou Xiaoxian's "Childhood Past", the grandmother who was bent on returning to the mainland, won the Golden Horse Award for Best Supporting Actress. She also starred in Yang Dechang's "Yiyi", in which she played the mother-in-law who became a vegetative person and later died.
The last work is "With You" directed by Chen Kaige. Tang Ruyun died in April 2011 at the age of 87.
Hou Dejian (as Police Officer)
The composer of the first film "Winter of 1905" in which Yang Dechang returned to Taiwan was Hou Dejian.
Hou Dejian is a godfather of Chinese pop music, the representative works "Descendants of the Dragon" and "If the Wine Is Dry and Sell Nothing", he made a cameo role as a police officer in "Muling Street", and also sang "Red Bean Words".
After filming "Muling Street" in the second year, he immigrated to New Zealand to study the I Ching, and later returned to the mainland to publish several I Ching books, and once wanted to make a cartoon of "The Legend of the White Snake", but the stone sank into the sea.
Jin Shijie (as Xiaoming's seventh uncle)
Jin Shijie is one of the founders of Taiwan's modern theater and a famous performance artist, collaborating with Yang Dechang on the early "Terrorist" and the mid-term "Muling Street", and also starred in his "Independent Era".
He is the first generation of "Jiang Binliu" in Lai Shengchuan's stage play "Crush on Peach Blossom Garden", and plays the same role in the movie version.
In recent years, he has participated in a large number of film and television works, most of which have cooperated with the mainland. Wei Zhongxian in "Embroidered Spring Knife" and Shu Qi's father in "The Leftovers are King" are well known to mainland audiences because of their superb acting skills.

Yu Weiyan (Producer and Plays Police Chief)
The opening of "Muling Street" reads "Zhan Hongzhi, Yu Weiyan, Yang Dechang, welcome to watch", these three people are the core of the film.
Yu Weiyan's name has always been "tied" to Yang Dechang - Yang Dechang's first work back from the United States was "Winter of 1905" with Yu Weiyan.
He is Yang Dechang's staunchest film partner (and also the person who has won Yang Dechang's bad temper the most), and after "Muling Street", he served as the producer of each of Yang Dechang's films.
In 2009, the Golden Horse Awards awarded Yang Dechang the Lifetime Achievement Award, Hou Xiaoxian and Zhang Zhen presented the award, and Yu Weiyan received the award for his old friend.
Yu Weiyan moved to Shanghai after Yang Dechang's death, and said that he was still working to promote the production of Yang Dechang's posthumous work "Chasing the Wind".

For writing the script of "Muling Street", Honghong (Yan Hongya) won the Golden Horse Award for Best Screenplay at less than 30 years old.

Honghong's greatest achievement is his old profession - writing, publishing many literary works, winning multiple literary awards, and directing many stage plays. In addition, he has served as a judge of the Golden Horse Awards several times, and in 2016, Bi Gan, who won the Golden Horse Best New Director Award, went to Taiwan to promote "Roadside Picnic", and Honghong also stood for it.

Zhang Guozhu was nominated for the Golden Horse Award for Best Actor with his son Zhang Zhen, who was 15 years old at the time, but still lost to another "father", Lang Xiong of "Pusher".

After "Muling Street", Jin Yanling cooperated with famous directors in almost every film, such as Zhang Aijia, Zhang Wanting, Guan Jinpeng and so on. In recent years, she has developed more in the mainland, and has participated in a large number of film and television dramas every year.

Xu Ming played the old treacherous giant Wang Dog, who does not appear much. Before his cameo appearance in "Muling Street", he was already a famous actor and had a relationship with the new Taiwanese film director.

At that time, Cai Qin was also the wife of Yang Dechang and a well-known singer. She later served as the artistic director of Yang Dechang's "Independent Era", and the next year the two ended a ten-year marriage.
After Yang Dechang's death, Cai Qin issued a statement writing, "Let him live in my song." In May 2016, Cai Qin announced at the concert that she would "never marry again for life".

Yang Dechang has always liked to find theater actors, and in "Muling Street", he found Wang Mu, who was "Cross-talk Washe", to play the eldest sister of XiaoSi, and also directed the fledgling Zhang Zhen to perform.
Wang Xiao is also the acting teacher of many junior actors, and the more well-known students are Li Liren, Ariel Lin, Zheng Yuanchang and so on.

When she made a cameo appearance in "Muling Street", Ni Shujun was already a very popular actress in Hong Kong, and won the Hong Kong Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1984 for "Ghost Informant", and later her career gradually moved to her hometown of Taiwan.

After "Mulling Street", he joined Yang Dechang's company and participated in "Moonlight Boy" in 1993, winning the Tokyo Film Festival Talent Actor Award.
