The Chinese Institute of Electronics recently issued a notice on holding the 2023 World Robot Competition. The World Robot Contest is an important part of the World Robot Conference, consisting of WRCT, WRCF, and Championships, and sets up related competitions around scientific research, skills, and popular science. The competition has been successfully held for 8 sessions since 2015, attracting more than 200,000 players from more than 20 countries around the world, widely praised as the "Olympic" in the robotics industry, continuously guided by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, has been continuously shortlisted for the list of national competitions for primary and secondary school students announced by the General Office of the Ministry of Education, and has achieved international mutual recognition of the results of a number of competitions.
According to the spirit of the Notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Education and Other Four Departments on Printing and Distribution <面向中小学生的全国性竞赛活动管理办法>(Education Supervision Department Letter [2022] No. 4), all competition activities involving "national competition activities for primary and secondary school students" in the 2023 World Robot Competition should adhere to the principles of public welfare, voluntariness and equality, not for profit, do not force or induce any school, student or parent to participate in the competition activities, and do not charge any fees to the participants.
The 2023 World Robot Competition has four major competitions: Inclusive Robot Challenge, BCI Brain-controlled Robot Competition, Robot Application Competition, and Youth Robot Design Competition, with more than 50 competitions and more than 100 competition categories, aiming to continuously exert its own platform advantages, stimulate the scientific and technological research and development potential of the robot industry, and become an important force to promote the cultivation of global innovative, application-oriented and skilled talents. As a Class A competition of the Youth Robot Design Competition, the TAI Challenge will set up two themes of land grabbing and smart city for primary school, junior high school and high school.
