Edge of Rebirth features fast-paced PvE and PvP modes, and incorporates new gameplay in shooters where players need to absorb enemy power and transform into their own abilities.
Edge of Rebirth is a free-to-play sci-fi shooter set in a near-futuristic world where nanotechnology has become the backbone of civilization. After a catastrophe known as the Great Collapse, nanomachines betrayed their creators, multiplying themselves by devouring humanity and incarnating into deadly threats called "Nanos." Players will take on the role of "Runners" in this apocalyptic crisis, scavenging the Meridian for precious nanomaterials called "Nerva". Players can form three-player squads and engage in intense PvE and PvP battles.
Warriors can synchronize with the primordial nanobodies they defeat and perform core-controlled assimilation with them to resist armies of nanobodies or hostile players. Each nanobody class – Breaker, Suppressor, Guardian, Prophet – has its own unique skills, and warriors can choose the most suitable one according to their style of play. Warriors can also equip two nanobodies at the same time and switch at any time, such as becoming a saboteur in hand-to-hand combat, or a prophet in lurking to scout enemies and search for opponents.
In Edge of Rebirth's PvE mode, a squad of three warriors will explore wilderness, fallen industrial facilities, dark caves, and more environments, gather resources, and fight hordes of nanobodies and powerful bosses to reclaim the nanorobot-infected meridian zone for the camp. In PvP mode, players will play against other warriors and nanobodies, and collect as many nano elements as possible before the gatherer leaves.
As with other classic swiping shooters, warriors can earn resources in PvE and PvP matches to strengthen their characters and unlock powerful weapons and modules.
After the successful beta in January, NExT Studios listened to player feedback and made some adjustments to improve the overall gameplay experience ahead of the official launch of Edge of Rebirth:
