Meta has announced the official name of its VR publishing division, Oculus Publishing. The department will work with studios to provide funding, production and promotion services.
Oculus was acquired in 2014 by Meta, previously known as Facebook.
VR publishing has funded more than 300 games, including VR Among Us, Blade & Sorcery: Nomad, and Bonelab.
Aaron Davies, Head of Content Publishing at Oculus, said: "It's great to see that the Meta Quest Store now has over 500 games. ”
"Players spent more than $1.5 billion on games and apps, with 40 games grossing more than $10 million in total. In addition, the number of games that hit the $20 million mark doubled year-over-year. ”
In 2022, Meta reported a loss of nearly $14 billion in VR division. Last week, Meta also announced that it would lay off another 10,000 jobs by the end of the year.
